The mainstream media's usual hand-wringing about President Trump's Twitter habit morphed into hyperventilation last week after he shared several "unverified" tweets about terrorism, but the director of the Central Intelligence Agency surprisingly doesn't have a problem with it. CIA Director Mike Pompeo said at a national security event in Simi Valley, California, over the weekend that Trump's tweeting has actually yielded helpful intelligence. The current CIA director sat down with former CIA director Leon Panetta and Fox News host Brett Baier for an hour of discussion on world events from a security perspective at The Reagan National Defense Forum on...

RUSH: Did you hear about poor John McCain? I don’t know why, because I don’t care enough to dig into why. All I know is that McCain req… (interruption) What? (interruption) I’m just… (interruption) He requested a… He wanted to get to three million followers on Twitter or Facebook. I don’t know why. Is that a crime, not knowing why? They’re telling me, “Be careful what you say.” I don’t know why he wants three million followers. It’s not the point. The point is when he requested it, many of the people following him dropped. They stopped following him. He...

The number of Twitter followers may have some intrinsic value in politics, and Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona seems to be no exception to this rule. McCain tweeted Monday morning asking for assistance in gathering more followers to become one of the few sitting senators with at least three million followers. "We're only 74 Twitter followers away from 3M - spread the word & help us reach this big milestone!," McCain's tweet said. McCain's tweet seemed to have the opposite effect — he began steadily losing followers. As of this writing, McCain has 2,989,328, a big deficit from the...

Welcome back to Can't Handle the Truth, our Saturday column looking at the past seven days of fake news and hoaxes that have spread thanks to the internet. The situation is dark for Democrats right now. Early Saturday morning, the Senate passed a rushed-through tax bill that disproportionately benefits the wealthy and corporations, the first major legislative achievement for Donald Trump and the Republicans. This bill will have to be reconciled with a House version of tax reform before it becomes law, but thanks to GOP majorities in both chambers of Congress, Democrats are utterly powerless in these negotiations. What's...

President Donald Trump called besieged Republican Senate Candidate Roy Moore on Monday, to offer him his full support in Alabama. “Donald Trump called Roy Moore this morning,” revealed Moore’s campaign consultant Drew Messer on Twitter. “Great conversation. His parting words were ‘Go get them Roy.’ Thank you, POTUS, for supporting the Judge.”

Roy Moore in the US Senate would be a stain on the GOP and on the nation. Leigh Corfman and other victims are courageous heroes. No vote, no majority is worth losing our honor, our integrity.

Yesterday, Rosie O’Donnell released a deranged tweet that called for President Trump to be jailed for life. But it didn’t stop there. Shortly after that one, she released another tweet with the same image that looks like it was scribbled by a mentally deranged serial killer, and issued a threat to Trump and his children, saying that their days are numbered. ROSIE ✔ @Rosie they r coming for u dipshit and ur kids ... ur days r numbered - u fool nobody - u tool - go to hell - we r not afraid of u #TrumpTreason 11:55 AM -...

The Washington Post faced swift backlash on Twitter Sunday evening after tweeting “White nationalists angered by Mexican immigrant’s acquittal in Kate Steinle’s killing.” While yes, White Nationalists are in fact angry about the slaying and subsequent acquittal, they certainly aren’t alone — and being angry doesn’t mean that you are one. Angry Twitter users promptly seized upon the tweet to slam the outlet for their poor-taste in framing the issue: "So if you're mad a seven time convicted felon got away with murder you must be a white nationalist. " "You guys have been taking too many lessons from the...

Last week PJ Media D.C. editor Bridget Johnson was suspended from Twitter with no warning or explanation. It's been nearly a week now and thus far Twitter has yet to offer a reason for the suspension. According to Twitter's Help Center, there are two types of suspension — a temporary timeout that results in reinstatement in a matter of hours, and a second, much more serious "permanent" suspension. Bridget's appears to be the latter. The company did not flag a particular tweet that was problematic and her request for an appeal has gone unanswered. While many Twitter users engage in...

Add Pajama Media’s Bridget Johnson to the list of those summarily silenced by Twitter’s ongoing purge of conservative voices. According to her employer, Johnson, a long-time journalist with established bylines at, among others, USA Today, the Hill, Politico, NPR, and the Jerusalem Post, was removed from Twitter over the weekend without warning, cause or explanation. A link to Johnson’s cache’d tweets (from late September) shows nothing close to any of the flame wars, abuse, taunting, bullying or anything else that violates Twitter’s intentionally-cryptic terms of service. As someone who has known Bridget for going on 10 years (in the early...

WASHINGTON-The Latest on the removal of a veteran FBI agent from the special counsel's investigative team (all times local): 1:20 p.m. The top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee says the panel is starting to see "the putting together of a case of obstruction of justice" against President Donald Trump. Speaking on NBC's "Meet the Press," California Democrat Dianne Feinstein said the evidence is coming partly from "the continual tweets" from the White House. Trump is focusing renewed attacks on the FBI, and on the investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller, two days after ousted national security adviser Michael Flynn...

Top congressional Democrats canceled a meeting with President Donald Trump on Tuesday after the president attacked them in a tweet, saying that they "want illegal immigrants flooding into our Country unchecked, are weak on Crime and want to substantially RAISE Taxes" and that he didn't see a deal happening with them. Instead of a get-together with Trump, the Democratic leaders asked their Republican congressional counterparts — Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and House Speaker Paul Ryan of Wisconsin — to meet Tuesday afternoon.

Lunatic left-wing commentator, or something, Keith Olbermann, used the whole dustup between the President and Sen. Running-Off-At-The-Mouth as his smokescreen for “ending all political commentary in all venues.” In other words, Olbermann, who has been fired so many times by so many media outlets it’s hard to count, was most likely fired by his only current outlet, the dying GQ Magazine. In a farewell Tweet, the former bad sports newsreader for the also-dying ESPN had this to say: “After “Pocahontas,” Trump’s an ex-president waiting to happen – imminently. So this will be the last episode of #TheResistanceGQ. If you’re a...
