PJ Media Editor, a Veteran Journalist and Terror Expert, Removed from Twitter

Last week PJ Media D.C. editor Bridget Johnson was suspended from Twitter with no warning or explanation. It's been nearly a week now and thus far Twitter has yet to offer a reason for the suspension.

According to Twitter's Help Center, there are two types of suspension — a temporary timeout that results in reinstatement in a matter of hours, and a second, much more serious "permanent" suspension. Bridget's appears to be the latter. The company did not flag a particular tweet that was problematic and her request for an appeal has gone unanswered.

While many Twitter users engage in abusive behavior on the platform, Bridget does not. Nor does she brawl with other users or engage in flame wars. She's a veteran journalist who, prior to joining the PJM team, worked at The Hill, the Rocky Mountain News, and the Los Angeles Daily News. She is an NPR contributor and has also been published at USA Today, The Wall Street Journal, National Review Online, Politico, the New York Daily News, The Jerusalem Post, the New York Observer, The Washington Times, and RealClearWorld. Bridget is a respected terror analyst and is known for her fact-based, impartial reporting.

So why was she suspended from Twitter? That remains a mystery. Hundreds of Twitter users have tweeted their support for her, expressing their astonishment that she was summarily removed from the platform without explanation.

Please join me in the fight to get PJ Media terror journalist Bridget Johnson reinstated on Twitter. The social network ridiculously banned her, undoubtedly because some leftwing hacks 'reported' her for *telling the truth* about terror. Use the #FreeBridget hashtag and mention @Jack (Dorsey) and @Twitter. https://twitter.com/MikevdGalienUS/status/937731728214560768

By the way, this is the THIRD time a prominent PJ Media correspondent was banned by Twitter. It started with Glenn “Instapundit” Reynolds. He was reinstated eventually after pressure from conservatives. A few days ago, they also took down Morgan Fox after Rush Limbaugh read one of her articles on his radio show.

Why is a media source which censors users' expressions of their political opinions acknowledged and utilized among freedom lovers as a legitimate media tool?

Just asking!

Good question bro, but I don’t do twitter or Facebook, so I cannot answer it. Here on FR, we can do it. I doubt JR will long tolerate a bunch of ass hat libtards, spewing their liberal crap on FR. They would get zotted quickly. 😱😂

If twitter isn’t responsible enough to regulate itself without political bias since it serves the public (note; this isn’t religious bias like with the bakers) then it should be regulated by a watchdog group of referee like neutrality.

Getting one reinstated here and another there while the steady pressure is to flush all dissident opinion out of the NET is futile. Either the NET monsters, Google, Amazon, Twitter, MSM et all get broken up by anti monopoly law or our guys have to build a separate NET. The reality is that without that, there will eventually be no non Progressive presence on the NET, including no Free Republic. We will be effectively shut out of the whole political system Even returning to Direct Mail which got the right out into view before the NET would be next to useless and the postal system and Fedex and all the rest would be sanitized too after the successful example of the NET.

Trump's win in the election got us a hiatus before the night but he did not stop the advance of the dark, only got us a breathing space before the resumption of the slow avalanche. The continuing restriction and cleansing of the NET will leave the total control of the culture by the Left as the only thing extant.

Thanks, but our President does use it; and with the censorship they are now exhibiting with other citizens, along with the fact that just one of their departing employees impacted even that account at one time, one might logically ask if it can be trusted as a worthy vehicle for important communications.
