Obama Skips Border Chaos, Will Fundraise in Austin with Director of Pro-Illegal Immigration Film President Barack Obama is refusing to visit the turbulent U.S.-Mexican border, where a flood of illegal immigrants continues to overwhelm the region. Instead, Obama will visit the home of Austin-based filmmaker Robert Rodriguez this week as part of a trio of Texas fundraisers. The Austin visit features tickets ranging in price from $5,000 to $32,400. The July 9 fundraiser also will feature actors Rosario Dawson, Danny Trejo and Jessica Alba. Both Trejo and Alba star in Rodriguez's ultra-violent Machete franchise. The first film in the series...

Dinesh D'Souza's America premiered at selected theaters this weekend and already has hit over 4 million dollars in tickets sales which would rank it in the top ten movies overall currently released and number one for a documentary. Yet, websites such as Rotton Tomatoes has it listed at under 3 million in box office sales. Almost 3,000 audience reviewers rank the movie at 4.5/5 stars whereas a handful of professional critics give it a 12/100 score. Amazing the descrepancy until you read the critic's reviews. Clearly, we're dealing with a liberal leftest assessment of the material in the movie not...

It’s all wrong from the word go. Princess Leia lying awkwardly on the floor like a drunk belly dancer, dirty clothes and manky old wigs. Those visiting the Stars Wars exhibition in Wolfsburg, Germany, would have been forgiven for mistaking it for the set of a budget porn film. The force was definitely not strong in this awful display of creepy mannequins, terrible lighting and all-round lameness. Take Chewie for example – obviously just a wig glued to a doll head.

Dinesh D'Souza's wonderful movie is moving up the Documentary ranks. As of posting this, it is #11 on the Political Documentary list. Political DocumentariesAll of us should have the goal to get this movie to #1 to pass the liar Michael Moore and his anti-American hit piece. I hope we can help this movie get there. Currently, it has grossed 4 million in 1,105 theaters. The liar's movie had 119 million and was in 2,011 theaters.

Sebastian Junger's "Korengal" is a kind of sequel to 2010's "Restrepo," but also stands on its own as an intense and affecting report on the experiences of U.S. troops in one of the most dangerous areas of Afghanistan. For the earlier film, Junger and co-director Tim Hetherington spent a year embedded with members of the Second Platoon of the 503rd Infantry Regiment in the Korengal Valley, which has been nicknamed the "Valley of Death." The new film is structured differently, but both are all about the men's experiences, leaving aside the politics or morality of the fighting. Junger uses some...

Here in Boone, NC, the most perfect and beautiful spot in all of America (and therefore the universe), the sky is blue and the air is cool and dry. For that reason, a movie festival is probably not on my agenda this holiday weekend. But for those of you stuck inside, what better way is there to celebrate the 4th of July than with a movie binge that takes you through the history of this great country of ours. My list is not perfect. Lists never are. It's a starting point. Feel free to make your own recommendations.

These films across genres and decades show American exceptionalism on screen. When it comes to the “land I love,” the movies that move us most happen to be based on the stories of real Americans. They get to the core of what America really means and show why this nation is truly exceptional. America’s dedication to liberty makes it a nation like no other. That’s why, whether the setting is war, politics, courtrooms, sports, or science, when Hollywood makes movies about exceptional Americans they celebrate the true value and meaning of liberty. And that inspires us.

Like the poster at the link, I am currently a Verizon Phone/DSL customer in Massachusetts and just received an email from Verizon stating that they will be raising my bill by $3/month, which already costs 76.00 with taxes, as we currently pay $59.99 for Verizon Freedom Essentials (unlimited nationwide + Canada and PR calling) and "High Speed Internet Enhanced" (approx. 6.50 Mbps speed at my location). No TV is included or needed. However, after i moved less than a 1/2 mile from where I was my Internet speed was approx. cut in half, from around 12 mbps to approx. 6,50....

The good news is that Tammy is not a crappy remake of the 1957 Tammy movie with Debbie Reynolds that spawned three sequels and a TV comedy series. The bad news is that this one is much worse. It’s a desperate and brainless vehicle for Melissa McCarthy, which she wrote herself, with her husband, Ben Falcone, who also directed, with all the efficiency and verve of an abandoned Volkswagen on the Jersey Turnpike. There isn’t a single shred of evidence that either of them has one iota of talent in the world of filmmaking. Tammy is not just a celebration...

I was watching The Alamo starring John Wayne a few weeks ago and was reminded of a little John Wayne speech in the movie. I later searched for it on YouTube and lo and behold it was there. I decided to wait to post on FR until today. I invite you to enjoy 43 seconds of goodness from John Wayne.

With today being the Fourth of July and all, I feel it’s my civic duty to unite us, if but for a short time, with the one act of blind patriotism we can all get behind: counting down the most over-the-top, overwhelming renditions of the national anthem, as performed by Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, and the rest of your favorite divas of pop music. (In no particular order, of course, so please don’t tweet me death threats. Thanks!) To clarify, by national anthem I mean “The Star-Spangled Banner” only. (As in, the actual, official national anthem.) That...

John Wayne and Clint Eastwood are probably the greatest western stars and are the greatest American movie heroes for many people. Vote for your favorite.

CBS46 morning show host Michelle Burdo used the dated term “colored woman” during a segment about summer hair tips Monday morning during the 9 a.m. CBS Better Mornings Atlanta program. “Let me tell you something,” Burdo said during a live segment to an African-American woman who appears to be the hair expert. “I’m not a colored woman but I have kinky hair just like her and when you straighten it every day, it’s…” She pauses. The woman filled the empty air by saying, “healthier.” Here’s a 12-second portion of the segmen On Tuesday’s show, at 9:57 a.m., Burdo apologized for...

On the occasion of the release of my E-Book on the James Bond film series--Bond Forever: A Film Buff’s Cinematic Analysis of the James Bond Series--I thought Breitbart readers would enjoy some thoughts on our expectations of masculinity in mass media, as portrayed by James Bond, who has managed to survive a miserable trend of male feminization.

Strahan - who won Super Bowl with Big Blue and now works on GMA part-time while co-hosting “Live! with Kelly and Michael” - never saw the man and was not hurt, officials said. This nut wanted to sack New York Giants great Michael Strahan — for good. An unhinged homeless man armed with a knife demanded to be let into ABC’s “Good Morning America” in Times Square Tuesday morning and said later he wanted to kill the Hall of Famer-turned-TV darling, sources told the Daily News. Security men told Andre Johnson, 25, to take a hike when he first demanded to...

Gordon Ramsay Announces End of Kitchen Nightmares June 23, 2014 Over on GordonRamsay.com, your source for all kinds of Gordon Ramsay news and updates, the British chef says the time has come for him to put a fork in Kitchen Nightmares, which began ten years ago, we're guessing, with a bunch of yelling and a handful of inept U.K. restaurateurs. The chef discussed his franchise with Deadline recently, and said that he intended to "turn it upside down, reposition it and maybe hand the position over to someone else one day." This doesn't mean the end for Hell's Kitchen, MasterChef,...
