  • CNN Panel Credits Obama for Booming Economy [semi-satire]

In the midst of widespread praise of President Trump's economic policies by world business leaders at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, a Cable News Network (CNN) panel mostly insisted that the credit for America's booming economy properly belongs to former President Obama. CNN International host Christiane Amanpour asserted that "most of the people I talk to on a regular basis agree that President Obama is really the one responsible. It was his policy that ushered in the period of sacrifice and stagnation that made Trump's moves toward deregulation and tax cuts possible. Let's not forget that the eight...
  • My "12 Strong" review

The synopsis for 12 Strong: "In the wake of Sept. 11, Capt. Mitch Nelson leads a U.S. Special Forces team into Afghanistan for an extremely dangerous mission. Once there, the soldiers develop an uneasy partnership with the Northern Alliance to take down the Taliban and its al-Qaida allies. Outgunned and outnumbered, Nelson and his forces face overwhelming odds in a fight against a ruthless enemy that takes no prisoners." My comments: My wife and I saw the movie this afternoon. The chief thing that stands out for me about that movie is the number of times that we turned to...
  • 47-Minute, Womanless Cut Of ‘The Last Jedi’ Sends Media & Liberals Into Triggerland

    01/17/2018 8:29:33 PM PST · by MNDude · 44 replies
Called “The Last Jedi: De-Feminized Fanedit (aka The Chauvinist Cut),” the cut-down version is clearly intended to satirize the complaints about the movie’s heavy focus on Finn’s aimless sidekick, Rose (who’s referred to as “Asian chick” and “China girl), and the pink-haired admiral played by Laura Dern. Most of their scenes, along with Leia’s and Rey’s, are significantly reduced. Despite having every indication of being a work of satire, the cut has sparked a backlash from the progressive media who are lamenting what they see as an insurgence of men’s rights activists in the geek community.

Many of us who have to buy some kind of cable television have avoided the overpriced, premium movie channels that rotate the same films and occasionally give you a new option you'll watch once. So we're forced to buy a basic cable package that has a very few daily go-to channels and others we have no real reason to waste our time on and that's how they get us. Imagine how many more people would sign up for cable if they ONLY have to pay for channels and content they wanted?

This week, CNN legal analyst Paul Callan acknowledged that Republican concerns about the objectivity of the FBI investigating alleged collusion are justified. “I started out angry at the aspersions being cast upon this venerated law enforcement agency, but the deeper I probed the more substantive the Republican claims became,” Callan said. “Take this FBI agent Peter Strzok,” Callan began. “First, there’s this trail of texts between him and fellow FBI agent Lisa Page indicating a definite covert scheme during 2016 to undermine the Trump candidacy and an ‘insurance plan’ to undermine his presidency in the event he wins the election....

The latest of the Disney “Star Wars” franchise is out, and it’s already dividing the audiences – and not just on its artistic and storytelling merits. Scanning the media commentary, one gets the impression the “long time ago in a galaxy far far away” saga is getting increasingly political, which some fans love and others hate, depending on where they stand in real life in relation to the type of political injected into the Jedi-Sith struggle. As CNN reports (spoilers alert): "Pop culture can hardly avoid politics anymore, especially in the case of a huge target like “Star Wars.” But...

Not fit for 21st Century PeeCee police approval per CNN's Carol Costello! #Hillaryarius! The sexism is everywhere!!! CNN sees that Mr. Potter is the Liberal seeking to put the people in the straight jacket of his "public housing" and George Bailey is the "Donald Trump" seeking to make Bedford Falls great again by freeing the people from the dictatorial power of "Progressive" Potter... (censor! Can't allow that truth out!) As with all (misnamed) "progressives" Potter sought to own and control ALL aspects of life in Bedford Falls, seeing only George Bailey as standing in his way! He seeks and thinks...

So Hollywood bravely took on President Trump this year, spurning and mocking the choice of the people of more states than anyone had won since Reagan was president (Bush in 1988 carried 40 states). And this year, lefties mocked the Christmas movies on the Hallmark channel. Michael Schneider reported on December 1: "Hallmark’s Cheesy Christmas Movies Are Already Dominating Cable This Holiday Season — Ratings Watch." Cheesy. His was not an opinion column but a straight-forward report on ratings -- and journalists consider calling Christmas movies on Hallmark cheesy. The Washington Post had noticed in August: "The feel-good Hallmark Channel...

Trump and the Republicans in Congress made history on Wednesday when they secured the most significant tax cut since the Reagan Administration. It was a tremendous feat when you consider how long Republicans have been trying to make this happen. As is the case with most political current events, the American people immediately rushed to Twitter after this bill was passed so they could see what brilliant analysis Barbra Streisand had to offer. As usual, she had nothing remotely intelligent to say.

To say I’m not a fan of what Disney is doing to Star Wars is putting it mildly. Disney paid $4 billion dollars to buy the franchise and now they want to make money, but the older generations — those who watched movies before the advent of Hulu and Netflix — aren’t the target audience for this new trilogy. No, the millennials and their willingness to spend their disposable income on entertainment are the real target. To that end, Disney has introduced a new cast of characters who have begun to remake the galaxy far, far away in their own narcissistic, millennial image. (There...

"Happy Festivus" is the traditional greeting of Festivus, a holiday featured in the Season 9 episode of Seinfeld named "The Strike", which first aired on December 18, 1997. Since then, many people have been inspired by this zany, offbeat Seinfeld holiday and now celebrate Festivus as any other holiday. According to the Seinfeld model, Festivus is celebrated on December 23rd.
