This morning I was awakened by the Civil Defense sirens and my phone going off with alerts. Tornado Warning for Memphis. I immediately jumped into action and did the usual thing - I went outside to see how bad it was. I was caught up by the wind and carried to the top of an ancient Hickory tree in the yard. Its at least 80 ft tall. I was surprised to find that my cell phone service and the view were both amazing. My girlfriend came to the rescue. She was yelling "Jump, I'll catch you". (never should have made...

This has been a spring of angry weather across the U.S. as heat, flooding, and hail pummel the eastern half of the country. But along with the garden variety suffering, devastating tornadoes have also spread across the U.S. from Texas to Pennsylvania. Twisters have ripped through communities across the U.S., killing at least three in Missouri last week, injuring nearly 100 on Monday in Ohio, and upending thousands of people’s lives. On Thursday, nearly 78 million Americans still faced increased odds of tornadoes touching down, according to the Storm Prediction Center, including major metro areas like New York, Washington, D.C.,...

A two-week onslaught of volatile weather has wrought death and destruction from the Southern Plains to the Northeast, bombarding the country's interior with disaster after disaster all because of a stalled weather pattern. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Storm Prediction Center has received more than 500 reports of tornadoes in the last 30 days. The 442 twisters reported in May -- which is historically tornado season's busiest month -- is still nearly double the 3-year average of 226 cyclones. "The threat is ongoing in the same areas we have seen over the past couple of days," Fox News Senior...

If you’re out driving around in your car and a tornado suddenly appears your best bet is to seek refuge in a church. Your second best option? A Chick-fil-A, a temple of another sort. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-NY, took to social media on Thursday during a tornado warning in Washington, D.C. and swiftly tried to connect it to climate change -- prompting one meteorologist to call her out for not knowing "the difference between weather and climate." The freshman congresswoman began by sharing a video on Instagram briefly showing the conditions outside, as heavy rains drenched the region and prompted a brief, and rare, tornado warning inside the Beltway. “There's people stuck outside. We need to get them out,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “This is crazy."
