Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney (D) addressed the shooting death of Temple University police officer Christopher Fitzgerald and made clear his view that one cannot claim to back the blue if they do not back gun control. Breitbart News reported that Fitzgerald was shot and killed while investigating a carjacking Saturday night. The alleged cop killer, 18-year-old Miles Pfeffer, was arrested Sunday morning without incident. The Philadelphia Inquirer quoted Kenney reacting to the slaying, saying, “There’s too many [guns] and they’re too easy to get.”

The law enforcement response to the horrific school shooting at an Uvalde elementary school has been facing severe criticism after it was revealed that the shooter was alive inside the building for an hour without being taken out by police. During this time, one brave mother drove 40 minutes from work, was handcuffed for trying to enter, talked police into freeing her, breached the perimeter, and went in and got her children out of the building. Police officers also reportedly entered the building and rescued their own children during this time. When questioned about the response by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer,...

Police admitted that the fatal shooting of a mental patient armed with scissors could have been prevented if the road sergeant equipped with a Taser had been at the scene in time. Michael Eligon, 29, was walking toward police with the weapon and a ‘blank stare’ when he was shot three times by an officer in Toronto, an inquest heard. A chilling video of the dramatic shooting shown to the inquest captured Mr Eligon’s last moments as he walked toward police who had their guns drawn and yelled ‘drop it’ on February 3 last year. Under cross examination, Constable Scott...

A man who was brutally stabbed by Brooklyn subway slasher Maksim Gelman two years ago had his negligence case against the city dismissed in court yesterday, despite the fact that two transit officers had locked themselves in a motorman's car only a few feet from him at the time of the attack. Gelman stabbed Joseph Lozito in the face, neck, hands and head on an uptown 3 train in February 2011, after fatally stabbing four people and injuring three others in a 28-hour period. Lozito, a father of two and an avid martial arts fan, was able to tackle Gelman...

State police have refused to release information that might shed light on the response of its Pocono barracks to a February crash off Interstate 476, the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, that led to the death of a Taylor man. The agency has failed to provide even basic information on the incident since The Times-Tribune began making inquiries in August. State police have classified the crash a "nontraffic incident," which directly conflicts with a Lackawanna County coroner's report that found 47-year-old Sam Turoni died from injuries suffered in a vehicle crash. A call reporting the crash was only briefly...

(CBS 11 News) DALLAS When you dial 9-1-1, how quickly do you expect a police officer to respond? Some crime victims in Dallas have waited for hours for police to arrive on scene. A CBS 11 investigation found that the problem is widespread. When a crime has been committed against you, there's usually a sinking feeling. "I opened the door, and the first thing I see was the T.V. was missing," said Dallas resident Jonathan Cardenas. "When I pulled my drapes back, the door was wide open," said another victim, a 94-year-old woman. Then there's usually an instinct to seek...

An NJ Judge has found that Camden city government, police department, and a 911 operator have no responsibility to prevent the kidnapping and murder of a 27 year old woman. Therefore, none of them can be sued for failing to perform their jobs. This is the same government and court system that denies that same 27-year-old woman the tools to defend her body and life on her own. What was the basis for the lawsuit? The 27-year-old victim's mother, Linda Reis, blamed the 911 operator and others for not responding to a call from someone who said he saw two...

I've been getting more and more curious since I've noticed something starting to disappear. I've been trying to get a 'Good Look' at every Police Car that I see. Either by first-hand experience, on film, or via word-of-mouth. The only police department, that I know of anyway, that have it on their cars is in Huntsville (AL). What I'm looking for is (what used to be the Catch-Phrase for all Police Departments) the Sign on their cars that stated " To Protect and Serve ".
