Just Exactly When Did It Leave?

I've been getting more and more curious since I've noticed something starting to disappear.

I've been trying to get a 'Good Look' at every Police Car that I see. Either by first-hand experience, on film, or via word-of-mouth.

The only police department, that I know of anyway, that have it on their cars is in Huntsville (AL).

What I'm looking for is (what used to be the Catch-Phrase for all Police Departments) the Sign on their cars that stated " To Protect and Serve ".

There's still a few old cruisers in Omaha with it on. The new ones don't have it.

It used to be on every squad car no matter what city I was in. But now that you mention it, it's not on my local police cars since they blew the budget putting new emblems on the squads.

It has to do with the U S Supreme Court deciding that
The people have no right of police protection!
In essence, the police were hired to ensure public order.
That's why the "Protect and Serve" motto went Bye Bye.

Huntsville is a wonderful place to live. I have lived here for many years. It is HOT and humid in the summer but I would not want to live anywhere else. MamaB

Hi, Jan and I had to go out and we saw 2 police cars and the sign is still on them unless we saw the same car twice!!! It says To Serve and To Protect or the other way around.
