A San Francisco police officer known as the "Hot Cop of Castro" was arrested 12 hours after allegedly hitting two pedestrians in North Beach early Sunday morning - too long after the incident for a drunk driving test to be administered. Officer Christopher Kohrs, 38, was arrested and booked into County Jail on Sunday afternoon on two felony counts of hit-and-run after turning himself in at the new Public Safety Building on 3rd Street. The seven-year department veteran entered the jail at 2:38 p.m. Sunday and was promptly released on bail at 4 p.m. on a $100,000 bond.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew told members of Congress Wednesday that he will announce a new administrative effort this week to stop corporate inversions, as attempts at legislation to stop companies from moving their headquarters out of the U.S. have failed. Lew said in a letter to lawmakers that he would issue "additional targeted guidance to deter and reduce further the economic benefits of corporate inversions." COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Justice Department will investigate an episode at a high school here in which a white police officer is seen in a video upending the desk of a black female student in a math class and dragging her when she refused to leave the classroom. HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A 19-year-old is dead, after accidentally shooting himself in the neck while posing for photos with a gun. The shooting happened at an apartment complex in the 9800 block of Forum Park in southwest Houston. Police say Deleon Smith found a gun and was taking photos of his cousin and himself. Police say Smith was posting photos to social media when the 19-year-old accidentally shot himself and died. Police have taken his cell phone as part of their investigation.

The family of shooting victim Samuel DuBose wants their son, brother, and friend to be remembered for his character, spirit and love of people. "I would like for everyone to know that my son was full of life," DuBose's mother, Audrey DuBose, told CNN's Don Lemon in an emotional interview. "He loved people. He loved all people.
