Donald Trump's number one qualification is that he is not a politician. He reminds us everyday and it's true. People may not like what he has to say or how he says it, but America needs Donald Trump. He and Ted Cruz have a similar plan to simplify the tax code, secure the border and make America an economic engine of the world. The two can unite the Tea Party movement and Trump alone can appeal to Democrat voters to beat Hillary Clinton. Recent polls have shown Trump appealing to voters of all stripes. Trump also has a tough foreign...

CALLER:...Out of all the conservative candidates that we have, which do you think -- and I'm deliberately choosing my words this way. Which do you think is the most hostile and intolerant toward liberalism? RUSH: Well, can I rephrase that? Because those words "hostile" and "intolerant" do not describe the person that I would answer that question about. I know what you mean. You really want to know who among other candidates is most anti-liberal, is the most opposed to liberalism as part of his existence, policy and everything else? And there's one clear answer. Put your hand up if...

"Who among other candidates is most anti-liberal, is the most opposed to liberalism as part of his existence, policy and everything else? And there's one clear answer. Put your hand up if you know who it is. Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz is the answer to your question, Roberto. If you're looking for the Republican candidate who is the most steadfastly opposed to liberalism, whose agenda is oriented toward stopping it and thwarting it and defeating it, it is Ted Cruz." Listen to the audio.

This week, Politico released on article suggesting that Ted Cruz has lost the trust of his peers, save for libertarian-leaning Mike Lee, who chimed in to his defense. The comments on the article, mostly from liberals who will never agree with a conservative philosophy anyway, resorted to ad hominin attacks. Criticism from the left is to be expected; however, the concerning part of this story is that conservatives and libertarians are voicing their opposition to Cruz fighting the status quo. The irony? Both camps claim to share the belief that Washington is dysfunctional, and many public opinion polls show that...

Bundling campaign donations is no longer just for the well-heeled and well-connected.

Sen. Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign is launching a social crowd-funding platform this week that encourages small donors to set up mini-fundraising operations by dangling video game-style badges and “secret events” as rewards.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) today released the following statement upon the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) announcement of a stricter standard for ozone levels, lowering the acceptable standard from 75 parts per billion to 70 parts per billion: “The EPA’s new ozone standard is the latest in a multitude of back-breaking regulations the Obama Administration is intent on implementing, despite the great harm these regulations will inflict on American consumers, workers, and companies — all for little effect on our nation’s air quality. “In Texas, we’re blessed to lead the nation in energy production, but this also means...

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell says the Republican Party has shifted much further right than the rest of the country — and GOP leaders must get its fringe members in line. During an appearance at the Washington Ideas Forum on Wednesday, Powell said it “should be obvious to party leaders that they cannot keep saying and doing the things that they were doing and hope to be successful in national-level election in the future, not just in 2016.”

HOUSTON, Texas – Presidential candidate Ted Cruz today announced the endorsement of former Scott Walker supporter, Iowa State Senator Randy Feenstra. The endorsement follows Cruz’s earlier announcement that all three of Walker’s former grassroots co-chairs in Georgia are also now organizing for the Cruz campaign.“It is an honor to earn Randy’s support and I look forward to working with him as we compete to win Iowa and the entire GOP primary,” Sen. Cruz said. “I am very proud of the network of courageous conservatives we’ve built across Iowa. Their hard work will be crucial to restore jobs, growth and security...

AUSTIN - U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz’s friendly approach to mogul Donald Trump might be paying off in Texas. A poll released Thursday by the nonpartisan, nonprofit Texas Lyceum showed that Trump leads the Republican field in Texas, but Cruz is close behind and is the second choice for more than a third of Trump’s supporters. Cruz could be expected to have a strong swath of support among Republicans in his home state. But his strategy with regard to Trump may have kept Cruz from alienating a bigger share of businessman’s backers. Trump, as he has led in polls, has been...

In the wake of Scott Walker's exit from the 2016 race last week, Chart Westcott — a major donor and fundraiser for the Wisconsin governor — heard personally from four GOP presidential candidates. He spoke to the finance chairs for nearly every campaign and super PAC. And he got lobbied by local supporters of the various candidates. "It was intense," said Westcott, a Dallas-based biotech investor who bundled money for Walker and gave $200,000 to a super PAC supporting him. In the end, he decided to go with Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas. "I wanted somebody who would completely shake...

Ted Cruz has called Mitch McConnell a liar and expressed outrage over what he sees as McConnell’s unprincipled leadership — but he’s not ready to call for the Senate majority leader to step down. Appearing on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show Wednesday, guest hosted by yours truly, the Texas senator and 2016 presidential contender twice rejected an opportunity to call for McConnell’s ousting as Senate majority leader. “We just saw John Boehner announce that he will be stepping down as Speaker in October. Do you think it’s time for Mitch McConnell to leave his role as leader of the Senate Republicans?”...

Mark “The Great One” Levin had some kind words to say about Ted Cruz: “Ted Cruz is the most consistently conservative candidate running.” The conservative talker also blasted Mitch McConnell, the Republican Majority Leader in the Senate who recently shut down Ted Cruz when he used his time on the Senate floor to educate voters about the deceptive games McConnell and his ilk play. “Today we have a guy by the name of Mitch McConnell [...]. He’s got no class whatsoever. And he gets this really sick joy in trying to control the Senate floor within his own caucus. Harry...

With the Summer of Trump behind us, the GOP presidential primary race is beginning to take shape. The sharp decline and hasty exit of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker leaves only four truly competitive candidates for the Iowa Caucuses on Feb. 1: Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Donald Trump, Ben Carson and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee. Cruz has the strongest ground game of that group and is the best-funded. Carson is better organized than most realize, but has an unproven team and is an unproven candidate. I agree with many experts who believe we now have seen Trump's peak in polling,...

So based on the criteria for the 3rd debate, it's possible we may be down to only 6, since if those polling near 3% now drop below a 3% average for 9/17 to 10/21 (which seems likely) then they are OUT! And since they should still be arranging where each one stands based on polls - the we should expect to see Bush move from center stage (top two) to the third (and hopefully) bottom tier (5th and 6th). So then the visual that results will be really bad for Jebby, as all will notice that the one the media...

Mark Levin blasted McConnell tonight article came out in Politico that explained how McConnell has worked against and ‘quarantined’ Ted Cruz from the rest of the Senate, stifling him from trying to defund Planned Parenthood and kill the Iran deal. Levin also ripped Rand Paul for trashing Ted Cruz yesterday, telling Paul he’s had enough of him making deals with McConnell. Listen:

Update at 6:33 p.m.: Former Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis touted Hillary Clinton’s experience and grit, while castigating Texas Sen. Ted Cruz as “not fit to lead” during a coffee klatsch for Clinton in Austin Wednesday evening. Speaking to about 40 people, Davis endorsed the former secretary of state’s presidential bid. “Hillary has demonstrated for many years her exemplary ability to lead in the face of real challenges,” she said. “We need someone like that.” Davis said that as the nation’s first female president, Clinton would “hopefully knit this Congress back together” and promote an agenda of “things that...
