GREER, S.C. — Presidential candidate Ted Cruz made another stop in the Upstate Friday night. The Republican U.S. senator from Texas spoke at a town hall meeting in Greer. "When I tell you I am going to do something, I am going to do exactly what I said I would do," said Cruz. Cruz said it's his core values and common sense solutions that will get him in the White House in 2016. He's also giving credit to another candidate for helping his campaign. "Donald Trump talking about this (immigration) issue makes the media talk about this issue and that...

Texas Senator and Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) accused Fox News Channel anchor Megyn Kelly of asking “the question every mainstream media liberal journalist wants to ask” and “the question Barack Obama wants to focus on” on Tuesday’s “Kelly File” on the Fox News Channel. Cruz was asked about his support for ending birthright citizenship and whether this means he favors amending the Constitution, he answered, “Well, as a policy matter, Megyn, it doesn’t make any sense anymore, that people who are here illegally, that their children would have automatic citizenship. That what that does is it serves...

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said Friday that those who oppose the Iran nuclear agreement, like former Vice President Dick Cheney and presidential candidates Donald Trump and Ted Cruz, are "pro-war" and are some of the same people who got the U.S. into a war with Iraq in 2003. "There's no doubt that we've seen forceful advocacy to kill this deal," Earnest said. "It's the same forceful advocacy we've seen in the run up to the Iraq war in 2003. In fact it's many of the same people making the same arguments." Cheney is scheduled to appear Sept. 8 at...

The Mexican government is warning that Texas’ denial of birth certificates for U.S. children born here to undocumented immigrants stands to imperil the relationship between Mexico and the Lone Star State. The concern was raised in an amicus brief filed Monday evening to lend support to immigrants parents who sued Texas after being denied birth certificates for their U.S.-born children, even after showing their “matrículas,” the ID cards issued by the Mexican consulate to undocumented immigrants.

The Texas senator has so far avoided confronting Donald Trump, and now he's trying to get the ear of Trump's audience.(Optional Video Accompaniment To This Post) OK, credit where it's due. Tailgunner Ted Cruz is the only other candidate in the Republican field who has reacted smartly to the sudden arrival of the Libidinous Visitor. While shoring up his natural base of support from the Bible-banging hayshakers in Iowa, Cruz also has refrained from trying to harsh the mellow of the Summer of Trump. And now he's pulled the shrewdest play of all. The Texas GOP senator's campaign announced Thursday...

Appearing on "The Hugh Hewitt Show," the Republican presidential hopeful called Boehner's reported Wednesday night statement "just wrong." Boehner made the comments at a Steamboat Springs event for GOP Rep. Scott Tipton, according to the Daily Caller. "I think it's just wrong," Walker said. "Even though I don't know Sen. Cruz as well as I know some of the governors, I've grown to know him and like him and admire him...

The Camp of the Saints (Le Camp des Saints) is a 1973 French apocalyptic novel by Jean Raspail. The novel depicts a hypothetical setting whereby Third World mass immigration to France and the West leads to the destruction of Western civilization. Almost forty years after publication the book returned to the bestseller list in 2011. Granted the countries of orgin might be a little different but it is quite prescient for something written over 40 years ago.

Sen. Ted Cruz and Rep. Louie Gohmert have joined those calling for a Margaret Sanger bust to be removed from the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery. The Sanger bust, on display in a “Struggle for Justice” exhibit since 2010, has been in the news since controversy surrounding Planned Parenthood flared up again. Sanger’s views on race and eugenics have been at the heart of the opposition to her appearance as a face of justice in America. Cruz and Texas Rep. Gohmert joined Ministers Taking a Stand for a press conference outside the gallery. They’ve circulated a petition that gained 11,000 signatures...

In a challenging field of competitors, Fox News Channel’s Andrew Napolitano has a strong entry for the most laughable legal analysis of the Indiana religious-freedom law. In an April Fool’s Day op-ed that he evidently means to be taken seriously, Napolitano argues that state Religious Freedom Restoration Act laws are unconstitutional. Napolitano’s core claim is that the Supreme Court, in its 1997 ruling in Boerne v. Flores, ruled that the 1993 federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act is unconstitutional. In Boerne the Court ruled that Congress lacked the constitutional power to apply the federal RFRA against the states. Napolitano accurately summarizes...

Two years ago, Trump met with immigration activists who told them their stories and asked for his support on immigration. "You convinced me" Trump said as the meeting ended.
