Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker came to the aid of Sen. Ted Cruz Friday after reports that Speaker of the House John Boehner called him a "jackass" during a fundraiser.
Appearing on "The Hugh Hewitt Show," the Republican presidential hopeful called Boehner's reported Wednesday night statement "just wrong." Boehner made the comments at a Steamboat Springs event for GOP Rep. Scott Tipton, according to the Daily Caller.
"I think it's just wrong," Walker said. "Even though I don't know Sen. Cruz as well as I know some of the governors, I've grown to know him and like him and admire him quite a bit out on the campaign trail.
"No, it doesn't at all," Walker said when asked if the party in-fighting helps. "Particularly at a time when so many Americans, and rightfully so, are frustrated that we can't get things done in Washington. I'm frustrated."
The 2016 candidate added that he doesn't think "anger" is the factor at play with the electorate, as the media reports, but rather a "sense of urgency" and a want for leaders who stick to their campaign promises.
Walker's comments come on the same day that he made an important speech on foreign policy, in which he pushed a cornerstone of former President Ronald Reagan's ideology — "peace through strength," while asking the question, "are we safer now than we were seven years ago?"
Boehner's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

I don’t think you could call it coming to his aide, more like wanting to get some attention, getting attacked by Boehner is badge of honor, but I guess it does make Walker look like he is not 100% in with GOPe.

Cruz is smarter, younger, better educated, and has a future that doesn’t include obsequious boot-licking for moral apostates and servants of evile.
I am surprised Boner can take the time to look up from the gutter he grovels in for the Chamber of Commerce and Obama to make such comments. Then again, I don’t care.
But, that is just my opinion and what do I know.

Well, it’ll have to be an apology — he can’t very well say, “uh, I was drunk, and don’t remember it.”
If Trump unloaded on Boehner, ‘ol John B might go on a crying jag that would cause the Potomac River to flood.
