The Phoenix Suns are acquiring 13-time NBA All-Star Kevin Durant in a blockbuster trade with the Brooklyn Nets, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski early Thursday. Phoenix is sending Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, four first-round picks and a 2028 pick swap to Brooklyn, according to sources. The picks, in 2023, 2025, 2027 and 2029, are unprotected. The Suns are also getting forward T.J. Warren in the trade, sources said. Durant wanted the move and new Suns majority owner Mat Ishbia pushed to get a deal done ahead of Thursday's NBA trade deadline. The Nets are expected to explore trade...

Count LeBron James among those who felt Suns owner Robert Sarver got off easy. The NBA suspended Sarver for a year and fined him $10 million after an investigation revealed that Sarver, allegedly repeating statements made by others, said the “N-word” at least five times. The 60-year-old Suns owner was also found to have made inappropriate comments about women and their physical appearances that were sex-related. Further, the report said that Sarver had inappropriate physical contact with men and was verbally abusive to employees. James expressed his displeasure with the ruling on Twitter on Wednesday. “Read through the Sarver stories...

Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver, banned for a year and fined $10 million by the NBA for racist and misogynist remarks and workplace bullying, said Wednesday he will sell the team. Following the punishments imposed last week, NBA players union executive director Tamika Tremaglio called for Sarver to be banned for life, and NBA stars LeBron James and Chris Paul declared the penalties too light. Major sponsor PayPal said it would not renew its deal with the team if Sarver were still involved, and Suns vice chairman Jahm Najafi called for Sarver to resign. “In our current unforgiving climate, it...

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Suns released a statement regarding a potential media investigation into the workplace culture of the franchise, denying that the organization or owner Robert Sarver has a history of racism or sexism. The statement sent Friday said the Suns are aware ESPN is working on a story accusing the organization of misconduct on a “variety of topics.” The Suns responded by saying they are “completely baseless claims” and “documentary evidence in our possession and eyewitness accounts directly contradict the reporter’s accusations, and we are preparing our response to his questions.”

Sports leagues and players have turned racial justice issues into a “circus” by focusing more on who’s kneeling or what message is written on players’ jerseys rather than real change, basketball Hall of Famer Charles Barkley said Friday. “I think we’re missing the point,” the former 76ers, Suns and Rockets star told CNBC. “We need police reform, we need prison reform. ... My concern is turning this into a circus instead of trying to do some good stuff.” The media contributes to the "circus" by focusing on kneeling and messages on buses and jerseys, he added.

Currently, there are four things that are really ticking me off. They are … #1). Broccoli. What a foul devil-weed that over rated sprig is, eh? #2). Drivers who text while driving. I passed this metrosexual the other day in Miami on US1 who was swerving all over the road in his Prius like a gypsy on a three-day tequila bender. When I got up beside him, his nose was down, buried in his cell phone, drafting a text message at forty-five miles per hour. He was probably confirming an appointment to get his eyebrows threaded at JLo’s new salon...

Phoenix Suns president and CEO Rick Welts, in an effort to breach what he sees as the tiptoed-around topic of homosexuality in men's team sports, recently met with friends, associates and a newspaper reporter to reveal he is gay. Welts, believed to be the first man in a prominent position in men's sports who has declared his homosexuality, says he wants to now mentor other gay people who seek to pursue a career in sports, according to The New York Times.

Now this is something you don't see every day: A man not only dunking the ball, but dunking himself! The videos below are absolutely insane. During a Phoenix Suns halftime show, this guy gets massive air, but then it goes from cool-looking to scary. Luckily, ABC reports that the man staved off any injuries. Watch and marvel at how this is even possible (Video courtesy of ABC).

In a wide-ranging news conference before the Lakers' 111-103 Game 2 victory Tuesday over the Utah Jazz, Lakers Coach Phil Jackson provided some clues on what his coaching future entails. ....................................................... Jackson had campaigned for Sen. Bill Bradley in 2000 and donated to the Obama election campaign, but he argued, "I don't think teams should get involved in the political stuff." "I think this one is still coming out to the balance in how it's going to be favorably looked upon in our audience and our public," Jackson said. "If I heard right, it's that the American people are for...

Imagine thousands of people were sneaking into Phoenix Suns games without tickets. The management would quickly crack down on the "undocumented spectators." Security personnel would engage in "profiling" - singling out younger male fans wandering around without obvious seats. They would want to see some "papers" - ticket stubs. Those lacking documentation would be deported out of the arena, or, in some cases, arrested.... So while millionaire athletes become walking billboards for a political cause, the state of Arizona might want to review the terms of its relationship with the Suns. If Mr. Sarver wants to use his team to...

President Barack Obama has endorsed one of the more inventive efforts to protest Arizona’s new immigration law, taking note of special jerseys that the NBA’s Phoenix Suns are wearing that call the team “Los Suns.’’ “I know that a lot of you would rather be watching tonight’s game —the Spurs against `Los Suns,’ from Phoenix,’’ the president told a crowd celebrating Cinco De Mayo at the White House on Wednesday evening. The Suns decided to wear the jerseys after Arizona’s governor signed legislation aimed at reducing illegal immigration to the state. Suns owner Robert Sarver, reflecting the anger of many...

In my 28 years of public service, I have made a lot of tough calls. But with a federal government unwilling to secure our border for years and years, Arizona is left with little choice. Imagine a sporting event where rules have been agreed to for 70 years, but the umpires refuse to enforce those rules. It makes no sense. Although I recognize that Senate Bill 1070 as amended is not the entire solution to our illegal immigration problem in Arizona, most people are united in the hope that it will finally inspire the politicians in Washington to stop talking,...

Yes, today is Cinco de Mayo, the "Fifth of May," an excuse to eat at Mexican restaurants and drink margaritas, which is always a good thing. But for the DUmmies, of course, this day, like every day, is Cinco de Mao, a time to celebrate international socialism and everything anti-American. PHOENIX - The Phoenix Suns will wear "Los Suns" on their jerseys Wednesday for Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals, owner Robert Sarver said, "to honor our Latino community and the diversity of our league, the state of Arizona, and our nation." The decision to wear the jerseys on the Cinco de Mayo holiday stems from a law passed by the Arizona Legislature and signed by Gov. Jan Brewer that has drawn widespread criticism from Latino organizations and civil rights groups that say it could lead to racial profiling of Hispanics. President Barack Obama has called the law "misguided."

San Antonio Spurs small forward Bruce Bowen was the man of the moment with his 3-pointer 36 seconds from time as the Spurs beat the short-handed Phoenix Suns 88-85 to go up 3-2 in the Western Conference semifinals. The Spurs can close it out in Game 6 Friday night at San Antonio. The Suns, without their all-NBA center Amare Stoudemire and his replacement Boris Diaw, and using largely a six-man rotation, nearly won a grind-it-out kind of game the Suns aren't supposed to be able to play.Tony Parker: No time for a break
