A Denver official recently encouraged new migrants there to pack their bags for New York or other US cities — warning they would “suffer even more” if they stayed in the Colorado capital, according to reportedly obtained footage. City worker Andres Carrera told a group of migrants staying inside a shelter that Denver didn’t have the resources to support them as he made clear that “the opportunities are over,” according to a video obtained by 9 News and aired over the weekend. “We are not going to block you if you want to stay here … I am here to...

For Biden, climate change is a chance to wield his executive power to your detriment. For “green businesses,” climate change is the way to redirect massive amounts of taxpayer money into their pockets. For John Kerry, climate change is a way to reemphasize just how special he is. And for you? Well, for you, climate change is about suffering. According to David Ismay, Under Secretary for Climate Change to Massachusett’s Governor Charlie Baker, the government needs to “break your will.” Now that Biden’s been in the White House for two-and-a-half weeks, it’s clear that the war against Nature’s natural climate...

Faced with ever-increasing traffic jams, South Florida's public officials have come up with a plan: Make it worse. Instead of fixing the problem, government officials are deliberately adding to it in hopes we'll all walk, ride the bus or take the train. "Until you make it so painful that people want to come out of their cars, they're not going to come out of their cars," Anne Castro, chair of the Broward County Planning Council, said during a meeting last year. "We're going to make them suffer first, and then we're going to figure out ways to move them after...

Military pay is exempt from the automatic budget cuts, known as sequestration, that went into effect earlier this month. But scores of military programs that impact service members in their everyday lives — including funding tuition assistance and family-assistance programs — are not protected from the across-the-board budget reductions. And that will certainly have an effect on service members, officials from the Defense Department and the military services told the House Armed Services Committee's subcommittee on military personnel. The Army and the Air Force both announced this week they would cut tuition-assistance programs for new applicants. Under sequestration, and the...

HOLDER: Whites Can’t Be Victims of Racial Injustice Because They Haven’t Suffered EnoughJohnathon Burns March 2, 2011Or, The Continuing Media Narrative of ‘Acceptable’ Racism.Dr. King once said, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Apparently, US Attorney General Eric Holder didn’t get the memo. As reported and applauded by Politico, Holder announced Tuesday that he was fed up with listening to whining whites who claim the justice department deliberately blocks investigations of black on white racism. Predictably, the Establishment media sides with Holder. “Think about that,†Holder said. “When you compare what people endured in the South in the...

Haiti suffers year of crisis with nobody in chargeBy Associated Press Sunday, January 2, 2011 - 9:49pm **SNIP** Over the summer, a storm ripped through a quarter of the camp's tents. People screamed and cried as, again, they lost their homes. Only one more relocation camp was built. The rest of the project was abandoned. In May, an old smell returned to the Champ de Mars: Tear gas. Parliament dissolved because an election could not be held to replace expiring seats. Its last act was to grant emergency powers to Preval and create a reconstruction commission co-chaired by Prime Minister...

SYDNEY (AFP) – Australia's outback Aborigines will be among the worst affected by climate change as soaring temperatures likely cause more disease and spur distress about the changing landscape, a new report shows. The expert report, published in the latest edition of the Medical Journal of Australia, argues that the country's remote indigenous communities are the most vulnerable to changing environmental conditions. "Their vulnerability to climate change is intensified by the social and economic disadvantage they already experience -- the result of factors that include decades of inadequate housing and public services, and culturally inappropriate medical services," the journal said...

WASHINGTON - Faced with a $2.5 billion budget shortfall, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is eliminating hundreds of jobs, cutting back programs and leaving more than 200 national wildlife refuges unstaffed. In all, the agency is planning to cut 565 jobs from wildlife refuges by 2009 — a 20 percent reduction. The national refuge system encompasses 547 wildlife refuges and more than 96 million acres in all 50 states, attracting more than 40 million visitors a year. Environmentalists say the staffing cuts — which follow two years of reductions — will leave an already lean work force depleted and...

SAN DIEGO ---- Americans need to think of illegal immigrants as economic contributors and not law breakers, said five advocates for immigration reform Monday. The five advocates, including a farming advocate and a U.S. Chamber of Commerce director, spoke during a press conference in response to a hearing held by the U.S. House Government Reform Committee. The Republican-led committee met Monday in San Diego to discuss the costs of illegal immigration to San Diego County's educational, health and legal systems. Viewed in an economic sense, the advocates said, the loss of a labor force made up largely of illegal immigrants...

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger may have reversed course on several issues since taking office in 2003, but on one key concern he has been unwavering: the need to do everything possible to help the state's economy thrive in a 21st century that will be marked by enormous competition. “California is already on the leading edge of the global economy and it's changing and growing by leaps and bounds. And yet we will let this advantage slip from our fingers if we don't make the long-term investment in our ports, our roads, our schools, our information systems – and all the other...

Cats can suffer from stress-related illness like humans, a study by animal experts suggests. Rivalry with another cat is the biggest source of feline anxiety closely followed by moving home or the arrival of a new member of the owner's family. Experts compared 31 cats with bladder disease to 24 healthy cats in the same households and used a control group of 125 other healthy cats. Sick cats generally got more stressed by other cats in the house, they said. Stress trigger Dr Danielle Gunn-Moore, senior lecturer in feline medicine at Edinburgh University's school of veterinary studies, said feline lower...

Many Shall Call Me Lord Self-deception and believing, then living a lie. There are no quick answers to complex questions, but the questions concerning, God’s Word or “Revealed Will,” are plain for every generation to see. Whether they are men and women who name Christ as their Lord or not, people want to play all kinds of games with God and His Word in an attempt to excuse themselves from their anti-cultural and suicidal behaviors. These lifestyle choices center on ethical decisions requiring wisdom for greater understanding of the difference between good and evil. From a Christian perspective, this point...

Veiled immigrants suffer in sunless climates January 10 2003 at 04:39PM Stockholm - Immigrants in Sweden, in particular women who wear headscarves, run a greater risk of developing health problems due to the lack of sunshine during the long winter months, doctors here said on Friday. Many immigrants to Sweden do not drink cow's milk or eat fatty fish, foods that contain vitamin D which is necessary for building strong bones. The lack of sunlight during the winter compounds the problem further, as sunshine helps the body produce its own vitamin D. Not only do women from hot countries traditionally...
