Last night, the New England Patriots launched a stunning comeback and defeated the Atlanta Falcons in overtime to win their fifth Super Bowl. The game seemed all but over, and some people got a bit smug during halftime gloating over the Patriots' imminent demise. Many people took the opportunity to blame Donald Trump for the Patriots' uncharacteristically horrible play during the first half.

South African doubts whether struggling American, who withdrew from Dubai event with back spasm, can add to his 14-major haulAiling Tiger Woods is suffering from an affliction far more destructive than the back spasm that led to him withdrawing from the Dubai Desert Classic on Friday, golfing great Gary Player has claimed. In an exclusive telephone interview with Gulf News, Player said he believes Woods is being plagued by “the cancer of golf, the yips” and thus doubts whether he will add to his 14-major haul. The yips are involuntary wrist spasms known to interfere with putting, the cause and...

Yes natural talent, divine luck all come into play but the lessons we learn on the field can apply to the greater "games" at work in life and the world. What are some political takeaways from tonight's game? For starters: "It's not over till it's over." "The defense was tired."

I don't see this happening in Foxboro should the Pats win but I do see the potential in Atlanta...win or lose. If I had a shoe store in downtown Atlanta, I'd already have a UHAUL backed in loading up all my inventory and moving it to a safe sight. Wait, what about flat screen TV stores? LOL

I cannot participate in watching the game today. I know the two teams have supporters and this is an American tradition of 50+ years...but I just heard from a friend that there is a very secure WALL around the playing field, and heavy security is there. Security is not allowing people who don't have a ticket to go inside! These people YEARN to watch the game... to spectate inside the walls... but the BIGOTS in the NFL are refusing. #NotMySuperBowl.

My father and I have a predictable routine when we speak on the phone, a not uncommon one around here in Massachusetts, it's safe to assume. After cataloging the well-being of various family members, the conversation inevitably turns to the latest on-the-field exploits of one Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Jr. So talented. So handsome. My mother and I have a similar, albeit inverted routine of our own. There's one person we never talk about, if only to maintain a fragile semblance of civility: President Donald Trump. Brady can relate to that right now. If there's one thing that can reliably...

On a night where many members of the Dallas Cowboys organization are sure to shine, a former member of the team was again denied his chance. Wide receiver Terrell Owens did not receive enough support to earn him a spot in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. A candidate must receive 80 percent positive votes from the selectors on hand, which apparently Owens did not...

After this 2016 season which the NFL became even more about celebrity and overpaid players bound and determined to express their opinions about everything that has nothing at all to do with football or the human competition involved, I have decided to "take a knee", myself. Roger Goodell seems to be on a mission to turn the NFL to a sissified version of it's former self. Or, into the American version of soccer. Either way, the owners may be making a ton of money, the the heart and soul of the game is being trashed faster and more completely than...

Keep an eye on your TV just before halftime of Sunday’s Super Bowl matchup between the Falcons and Patriots. That’s when 84 Lumber will air the following ad: This isn’t the original version of the ad. For that, you’ll have to see 84 Lumber’s website during halftime of the big game. When 84 Lumber and their agency partner, Brunner, submitted the ad to Fox for airing during the Super Bowl it was deemed too controversial. 84 Lumber’s president and owner Maggie Hardy Magerko talked to the New York Times about the situation. “I still can’t even understand why it was...

Christopher Monfort, convicted of killing Seattle police Officer Timothy Brenton in 2009, was found dead in his cell Wednesday morning at the Washington State Penitentiary in Walla Walla, according to a spokesman for the state Department of Corrections. Monfort, 48, who was convicted in June 2015 of aggravated first-degree murder for the ambush killing of Brenton and for wounding his partner on Halloween night 2009, was serving a life sentence. Paralyzed below the waist by a gunshot he suffered during his arrest six days later in Tukwila, Monfort was in deteriorating health by the time of his trial in King...

Reasons to boycott Super Bowl LI | 2/2/17 | Wallace T.
Four reasons to boycott Super Bowl LI: * The cast of Hamilton (the Broadway play where one of the actors insulted then Vice President-elect Pence before a theater audience) will sing "America the Beautiful" in the pregame ceremonies. * "Lady" Gaga will perform the halftime show. A long time supporter of perverts, she appeared at a Hillary Clinton rally before the election. http://www.naturalnews.com/055936_Lady_Gaga_Nazi_uniform_Hillary_Clinton.html* Foreign owned Budweiser will run a commercial praising immigration to this country, specifically by the founder. Never mind he arrived legally, unlike many of today's immigrants. * Audi, another foreign owned corporation, will air a commercial plugging...

Super Bowl halftime show news conferences are funny little things. Ostensibly, this is an event designed for the dissemination of information on the performance, with the artist -- in this year's case, Lady Gaga -- speaking directly to the media for the first and only time ahead of the big game. Only Gaga -- like every Super Bowl halftime performer that has done this news conference before her -- is unwilling to part with any information about her show. This makes sense, of course: Half the fun of a halftime show is guessing what it will look and sound like....

What’s a Super Bowl without controversy? Tom Brady and the New England Patriots are in Houston for their record-setting ninth appearance in Sunday’s NFL championship game, but the biggest questions the future Hall-of-Famer faces this week have nothing to do with the Atlanta Falcons secondary, his receiving corps or coach Bill Belichick’s game plan. Instead, football’s best player has become the focus of a political debate between those, including many in the sports world, who insist the quarterback must explain — or even “disavow” — his friendship with President Trump, and others who contend Brady is as entitled to a...

If you thought Super Bowl week would provide a much-needed respite from our polarized national political climate, think again. New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady have been getting the third degree on whether they support President Trump. Not only have the two leading NFL figures been peppered with questions about Trump at their media availabilities, but editorialists and opinion writers have been demanding to know: Are you now or have you ever been a passenger of the Trump train?

Honeymoons at the University of Texas are equal in length to the use of fax machines on National Signing Day. Tom Herman is well into his marriage as the Longhorns coach and the glow from his hiring has faded. That’s not to say that the excitement won’t return – after all, he has yet to coach a down for UT – but there are indications the love affair needs some rekindling.
