San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan says he lost about $25 million in investments to a dishonest adviser, but is not a factor in deciding if he will return for a 19th NBA season. Earlier this year, Duncan sued Charles Banks, his former financial adviser, seeking more than $1 million in damages after Duncan says that Banks took Duncan's $7.5 million investment in his company, Gameday Entertainment LLC, and used it for his personal benefit.

Soccer star Brandi Chastain is asking all players to reverse their jerseys to show support for a rule change: no headers for players under 14. With the soccer world focused on the Women’s World Cup, Chastain is promoting the Safer Soccer Campaign. She says heading the ball can lead to concussions. Chastain was one of the first to jump on the effort — a former star who scored the winning penalty kick to give the United States the title over China in the 1999 World Cup, and memorably ripped off her shirt in exultation. Now she is a youth coach...

A study of lakes in Connecticut reveals that recreational angling pushes largemouth bass to evolve.Fishing a lake may, over time, make the fish in that lake harder to catch. A new studysuggests that recreational fishing, aka angling, causes evolutionary changes over the course of decades. Largemouth bass living in waters popular with anglers have been adapting to become less active. New generations of increasingly timid fish may eat less and be less likely to bite. “When your grandfather told you the fishing was better back in his day, it’s possible he was right,” says Jan-Michael Hessenauer, who reported the finding...

The internet seems to love to hate on LeBron James – especially after losing in the NBA Finals. Not to rub salt into fresh wounds but some of these were just too good to pass up. Plus, they are all in good fun. Go Warriors. #DubNation

OOOOOH, that looks like it hurt — and we’re speaking in more ways than one here. This real sad Cavaliers fan, Lonnynell Coleman, recently got a tattoo boldly (and incorrectly) proclaiming the Cleveland Cavaliers as the new NBA 2015 Champions. Clearly, he ended up being wrong, leaving his new leg work looking like a sad, risky, and ultimately, foolish-looking tat. Aw, you just can’t help but cringe for the guy when you look at it.

The Packers Hall of Fame quarterback Bart Starr says the QB has been accepted into a clinical trial using stem cell therapy. The Green Bay Packers issued a news release Wednesday saying that Starr returned home Friday from the first of two treatments. Starr's wife, Cherry, said in October that Starr suffered a ischemic stroke Sept. 2, followed by a hemorrhagic stroke and mild heart attack on Sept. 7.

So, Ryne Sandberg, manager of the Philadelphia Phillies, how was your Tuesday night? “It was ugly,” he told reporters. “That was ugly.” How ugly? The Phillies, the worst team in baseball, lost 19-3 to the Baltimore Orioles. It was their eighth straight road loss, which marks the first time the franchise has gone winless on a trip of at least eight games since 1883. Dennis Deitch, from the Delaware County Daily Times, put it into context: The last time the Phillies had a road trip that consisted of at least eight games and no wins, they we traveling by train...

This was all we ever wanted out of the NBA Finals, honestly. Haha even Riley was a little taken aback by how pumped Steph was after winning his first title! She was sleepy before the end of the game, but mama Ayesha let her know "We're gonna win the whole thing."

the Cavaliers are the clear-cut favorites to win next year's championship. The Golden State Warriors outlasted the depleted Cavaliers on Tuesday, clinching this year's championship with a 105-97 win in Game 6 of the NBA Finals. But the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook made Cleveland the early 9-4 favorite to win the 2016 NBA title. Golden State and the Oklahoma City Thunder are next at 5-1, followed by the Los Angeles Clippers (10-1), San Antonio Spurs (12-1) and Chicago Bulls (12-1). A lot could change during the offseason, with a plethora of big-name free agents possibly on the move.

Andre Iguodala was his team's best player, yet he still heard boos. They were coming from his mother. "Ball hog!" Linda Shanklin howled from the stands. "Pass the ball!" When the game ended, Iguodala, then a sixth-grader, pleaded with Shanklin's husband: "She's booing me! She's my mom!" "Dude, you need to pass the ball!" she fired back. "You're not the only person on the team. You look really sad just scoring all of these points." A ball hog? Even then, Iguodala thought of himself as a team player. Three years earlier, he had asked the coach of his local community...

MC Hammer is a diehard part of the Dub Nation. The "2 Legit" rapper and Oakland native was spotted courtside as the Golden State Warriors beat the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday night. Hammer has attended other NBA Finals games, too: He was photographed watching Game 1 on June 4. Bay Area rap stars have been vocal in their support for the Warriors' ascension this season. Lil B's public curse against Rockets shooter James Harden led many fans to thank the Based God, while E-40 wrote a Warriors rhyme and has promised the team a year of free wine from his...

If the Golden State Warriors can finish off the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals in Tuesday’s Game 6 in Cleveland, the welcome they receive on arriving home could rival the one they received in 1975 after Golden State’s only other NBA title win. On May 26, 1975, the Warriors beat the Washington Bullets in Landover, Maryland, completing an improbable four-game sweep of the highly-favored Bullets. Many hours later, a crowd of several thousand people swarmed the arrival gate at San Francisco International Airport for the late night arrival of the newly-crowned NBA champions. Footage from KPIX showed Finals MVP...
