The Packers Hall of Fame quarterback Bart Starr says the QB has been accepted into a clinical trial using stem cell therapy.
The Green Bay Packers issued a news release Wednesday saying that Starr returned home Friday from the first of two treatments.
Starr's wife, Cherry, said in October that Starr suffered a ischemic stroke Sept. 2, followed by a hemorrhagic stroke and mild heart attack on Sept. 7.

It worked for Gordie Howe. Six months ago he was bed ridden and could barely talk.
Now he’s skating with his Grandchild.
One of the all time greats. He was mvp of the first two superbowls.
For some reason I thought Cherry was deceased.
Wow that is awesome. Good to know there is now an advance (clinical) treatment for strokes. It is amazing how advance technology helps all of us. I pray that this treatment will become more spread out through out the nation to help stroke patients.
Hopefully, ADULT stem cells will be used although the article did not specify.
When they think they have a new treatment that used Embryonic stem cells, they are always loud and proud about it. It's like they want to tell the world: killing unborn children and turning them into medicine is a Good Thing! Embryonic stem cells will save us all!!
Of course, Embryonic stem cells never fulfill their promise and always turn out to have no real benefit. They're pretty quiet about that.
If Starr is benefitting, then I suspect Adult stem cells (AKA "stem cells") are the reason.
And one of the classiest men
Yes Bart and Cherry both are class acts. I remember Bart taught Sunday School while he was a player. For all I know he still may do so.
Also he had the perfect name for a great player: “Bart Starr”. It just doesn’t get any better than that.
Ah Ha! So that... is how he scored!
Oh well, just slap an asterisk on that NFL Championship... and be done with it--
On the flip side, I wish Bart all the luck in the world... as I may some day need it for a couple of my human parts.

That’s a really bad five days.
Come on Bender if this is true
Do you want part of Bart Dna in you I THINK SO
Well, Seven, looking back over some of my relatives... Bart's deoxyribonucleic acid would definitely be an improvement!
