(VIDEO-AT-LINK)There's less than two weeks to go for all of us to have some form of health insurance, or be penalized by the government. That means there's a last minute push in communities like Minneapolis's Cedar Riverside Neighborhood to sign people up. Every immigrant community has its own unique barriers, but in the Somali community, advocates are racing against both time and culture. Timadde Aden is a typical case. He's never had health insurance, but enrolled for medical assistance today through MNsure at the Somali Health Solutions office in Minneapolis. One of the employees at that office, Hodan Guled, says,...

They are going there to get subsidized Section 8 housing vouchers to take to another state. Refugee resettlement is a euphemism for importing whole Muslim communities, importing jihad. I have long documented the targeting of gateway cities (smaller cities) overwhelmed with Muslim refugee immigration from countries like Somalia — cities like Emporia, Kansas, Nashville, Greeley and Fort Morgan, Colorado, Lewiston, Maine et al. The over-saturation and drain on city resources has driven these immigrants northward to settle in Wyoming, according to these reports. Organizations like Lutheran Family Services profit enormously from the Federal government handling these refugees. The sharia compliant...

They made it as far as Frankfurt, Germany, before being detained, and all three have been returned to their families in Denver. It's unclear whether they will face charges. The Voice of America first reported the incident, saying that two of the girls are of Somali origin, while the...

Wyoming Considers Steps to Assist Its New Refugees State Weighs Creating a Resettlement Program Dan Frosch Sept. 21, CHEYENNE, Wyo.—Draped in a brightly hued robe and veil, Amal Hassan certainly stands out from the locals as she walks along the outskirts of this high-plains city, pickup trucks rumbling by. Somali refugees such as Ms. Hassan are becoming a more common sight here in the nation's least populous state, the only one without a refugee-resettlement program. Such initiatives provide social and financial services to refugees such as Ms. Hassan, 29 years old, who were admitted legally into the U.S. Now, with...

At 22, Kadra Mohamed is a civilian employee of the police department, a community liaison officer making a courtesy call to a merchant, a time-tested neighborhood policing method. Still, this visit -- and many she makes -- breaks new ground. In March, the St. Paul Police Department hired Mohamed, its first female Somali community liaison officer, a move designed to improve the sometimes tense relations with 80,000 Somali-Americans in the Twin Cities -- more than half of them in St. Paul -- the nation's largest Somali community. Each time she wears her crisp blue police department uniform with its thick...

The failed prosecution of an alleged Somali pirate — and the fact that that failure could leave him living freely, and permanently, inside U.S. borders — is highlighting anew the risks of trying terror suspects in American courts. Just a few weeks ago, Ali Mohamed Ali was facing the possibility of a mandatory life sentence in a 2008 shipjacking off the coast of Yemen — an incident much like the one dramatized in the film “Captain Phillips.” Now, the Somali native is in immigration detention in Virginia and seeking permanent asylum in the United States.

A teenage stowaway who survived a five-hour flight to Hawaii in the landing gear of an airplane won’t face federal charges, officials said Monday. He apparently didn’t even know where the flight was going. “This was not something he planned out,” said Special Agent Tom Simon, an FBI spokesman in Honolulu. “My impression is that he ran for the first flight he saw.” The 16-year-old was running away from his home in Santa Clara, Calif., and scaled a perimeter fence at San Jose International Airport early Sunday before entering a wheel well of a Hawaiian Airlines Boeing 767, authorities said....
