A young Calgary man who is believed to have been killed in Iraq fighting for ISIS was dead inside long ago, says his former best friend.
Social media reports on Friday said Farah Mohamed Shirdon, a 21-year-old Somali-Canadian, had died overseas.
Its unclear when he joined the terrorist group Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham but in an ISIS video that surfaced four months ago, Mr. Shirdon can be seen burning his Canadian passport and threatening Canada and the United States.

On a Twitter account believed to belong to Mr. Shirdon, a tweet from June read, Beheading Shias is a beautiful thing.

i can’t....if it’s suppose to be in your post, all i see is a little box
well, i refreshed and the box is gone :/
Of course that would be "profiling" but border guards worldwide...including on both sides of our northern border...do so as a matter of routine.
i pray not, but if what i have been reading recently on a few sites is true, our Northern border will open up like the Southern border in the near future

Dear Young People:
Everyone has feelings of angst when they are young. Your feelings are no different than what billions of others have felt. Please remember that letting your emotions drive you to join a terrorist organization will get you dead. And dead is dead. You won’t get to see Miley Cyrus make a fool of herself anymore.
Somali-Canadian?
I think what they meant was: an African-American Canadian from Somalia.

I've crossed international borders more times than I care to recall...including the US/Canadian border. We have a long history of close friendship with our northern neighbors. We do,in fact, share the longest undefended border on earth...which speaks loudly to that friendship and mutual trust.
But there are bad people in the US...including US citizens. And there are bad people in Canada...including Canadian citizens. That unfortunate fact argues against a border that's *wide* open.Canada doesn't want murderers or terrorists crossing into their territory from the US any more than we want the reverse to occur.
But I think it would be understandable and reasonable for border officials from both countries to take an extra close look at certain types of people,as I mentioned earlier, before allowing them entry. That's all I'm saying.
Are you sure he’s not just pining for the fjords?
We’ll soon find out how many Somali-Americans joined ISIS.
You can tell by the shortage of Taxicabs in Minneapolis.
“Mr. Shirdon can be seen burning his Canadian passport”...
Well, we can do better than that for the ISIS bastards...
How about holding block parties to burn Korans and Video tape these events.
Trouble is- he was religious. He believed his Religion is True. He knew that the requirement of Islam is to force everyone else to convert to Islam or to kill them or enslave them. Maybe he just felt he wasn't ready quite yet to kill off his "friends." Or maybe he felt he needed a little training and experience before he would come back and behead his friends.
