  • FL: Rare, Robber With AR-15 or Facsimile Has Poor Muzzle Discipline(video)

Very interesting series of photos from the security camera make for a choppy video.   What is clear is that the robber has virtually no tactical sense, no backup, little situational awareness, and focuses on the money. If anyone there had a firearm and felt threatened, this guy would have been done.   Notice that in the last two or three images, he has his hand off the pistol grip, muzzle pointed away from anyone, and eyes focused on the money.  The video is grainy enough that I cannot be sure if what he is holding is a real AR-15 type...

I had a good response to putting the Enemies trilogy novels on Kindle free runs the last three weeks, so I decided to go ahead and do it with everything I have. The Bracken Anthology is a good introduction to my stuff, both fiction and nonfiction, so if you can spread the links to your "low information" friends and family, it might slap some sense into them. Or just entertain them. I'm doing these free runs prior to going sailing next year, and spending (I hope) a lot of time over the horizon and unconnected. All of these "internet published" short...
  • A Requiem for 'Cash for Clunkers'

Just in time to act as an illuminating footnote to the ObamaCare disaster, a study has been released revealing that one of Obama's early "triumphs," Cash for Clunkers, was actually a badly-run flop that accomplished nothing worthwhile at very high cost. The Brookings Institution study by Ted Gayer and Emily Parker finds that the 2009 program, which offered $3,500 to $4,500 for drivers to trade in their old "clunkers" for newer, more fuel-stingy models, fit the standard Obama practice of dropping vast amounts of cash for minor or ephemeral gains. Cash for Clunkers cost over $3 billion. It resulted in...

I just watched "Last Ounce of Courage" on Netflix...wow..absolutely beautiful! That's what I am waiting for from us - to wake up and fight. And they won because here is NO law that can stop us to fight for what we believe in - just intimidation. But for some reason intimidation works. We are letting it happen! If we could make sure as many American as possible watch that movie, may be, just may be we would wake up more of us and may be, just may be we could win back all those freedom that we lost and are...

Abortion. The Second American Civil War, as was the First Civil War, will not be about economics and cultural differences. The ultimate dividing issue, as was slavery, will be abortion. Obama knows this and he is, with increasing desperation, trying to provoke a Second Civil War while he is still President of the United States. While he can still play the Abraham Lincoln role that Time Magazine gave him, while Tea Partiers such as Sarah Palin look like a rag-tag bag of rural "Rebs". There is "Liberal Fascism" as Jonah Goldberg has defined the Progressively Marxist American Left. Then there...

My nephew Jake Silverman is a brainy, confident, energetic, and strong-willed six-year-old. He eats more food than I ever thought it was possible for a six-year-old boy to consume, loves my iPad with a passion, and sometimes has temper tantrums when he doesn’t get precisely what he wants. He already knows he wants to be a doctor, and I have no doubt that he will be an unruly teenager who will mature into a brilliant, handsome, and talented young man. At least that is my hope. You see, Jake was adopted from Ethiopia by my brother (who is white), and...

A Saudi sheikh has issued a fatwa against anyone wanting to travel to Mars. The Mars One Foundation, a private, nonprofit organisation seeking to establish a permanent, occupied settlement on Mars by 2023 has apparently not found favor with higher ups in the Religion of Peace. In fact Sheikh Ali al Hemki has issued a fatwa against the organization and its plan, claiming the proposed mission “does not conform to ‘responsible Muslim’ practices.” (1) With the exception of beheading infidels, abusing females and killing anyone who disagrees with them, does ANYTHING conform to “responsible Muslim practices?” More importantly, ARE there...

A covert game of hide and steal among the United Nations Agenda 21 Project, the U.S federal government, and Indian tribes will result in irreversible consequences that will let the feds control all national water rights. According to a press release by small ranchers and property owners in Montana, “Circuit Court Judge Cameron Wogan in Klamath Falls, Oregon, refused ranchers’ requests for a temporary restraining order to allow their cattle and horses access to drinking water.” Their main water tributaries were shut off in June of this year after tribal demands on rivers and streams feeding Klamath Lake turned 100,000...
  • TX: Grisham (open carry) Case Shows Need for Jury Education

The recent mistrial in the case of U.S. Army Master Sgt. C.J. Grisham shows the lack of education of the Bell County jurors. The mistrial occurred because only one juror of the six understood his rights and responsibilities as a juror.    Initially, according to a member of the jury,  L. J. Cotterill, the jury agreed: “we all agreed that the charge itself and the case itself was garbage. This entire matter should have been resolved by two grown men acting like grown men apologizing for their part in a bad situation and buying each other a beer and then...

  • AR: Constitutional Carry Percolating in Arkansas Media

Arkansas passed ACT 746, which went into effect on August 16th of this year, (2013).   The act effectively legalizes constitutional carry in Arkansas because it changes the definition of what constitutes the illegal carry of weapons.  The old law did not require any intent;  the new law makes carry of weapons illegal only if the carrier has the intent to illegally use the weapon. AG McDaniel's, a Democrat, issued an opinion that the new law does not allow open carry.  The opinion is nicely dissected by Steve Jones here.  Essentially, the AG simply dodges the real issue, and never addresses...

The thread between believability and outright lies has been stretched thinner and thinner as President Obama continues his five year dance over the truth of his missing in action responsibilities. Of course it is more than a little unsettling that this president was caught in a massive lie which he managed to repeat at least 12 times during his administration. You know the one: “If you like your healthcare you can keep it – period!” Fox News, and now other mainstream media outlets like NBC and CBS, have reported that while the president was continuously lying to the American people,...

Tried reasoning with any of them lately? IMHO now entering a new period where Obama voters simply won't admit their mistake, no matter how bad the pain gets for us all. They're in denial mode it seems (now the only remaining alternative to surrender) rejecting reason on every level while hurling threadbare prog talking points at you, i.e. 'But now they can't turn away people for pre-existing conditions- it's a Good Thing!', like we needed a monstrosity of this magnitude to have this one single change legislated. Alas, they also seem plain tuckered-out and spent from defending a bumbling ...

Those who push citizen disarmament have worked very hard to demonize guns.  They have tried to make the public display of arms a shameful thing, something that "decent" people simply do not condone.   They have had considerable success.   As recently as the 1950s people carried rifles and shotguns in New York City without a sideways glance. In liberal fascists' version of reality,  the public display of firearms is perfectly acceptable, even laudible, if the person with the weapon has on a uniform, indicating that they are an agent of the state.   Trade the uniform for ordinary clothing, however, and...

I've become an agnostic less than a year ago, when I realised that the reason why many people, many...

The West Virginia senator who pretended to be a conservative in order to scam Mountaineer State voters has at last seen the light on ObamaCare. Or so he claims. Famously a pro-gun conservative in the months prior to the 2010 election, Manchin has since said “I don’t know anyone that needs 30 rounds in a clip to go hunting …”(1) That’s magazine, Joe, NOT clip. And now, after voting to impose the Affordable Care Act on the American...

Like some cheesy infomercial that tries to convince you of how great its product is, the Obama administration continues to tell us about the wonders of Obamacare. But a critical difference between Obamacare and the “as seen on TV” product is that the sales number and website for the latter always works, (even if the product doesn’t). That’s the first insult of the government’s healthcare site: it can’t competently sell you what you’re being forced to buy. So, how did we get here? Because Obama and other Democrats made political promises that were necessary in order for the bill to...
