Fifteen incumbent Republican legislators, including Senate President Pro Tem Chuck Winder, R-Boise; Sen. Scott Herndon, R-Sagle; and Rep. Julianne Young, R-Blackfoot; lost their re-election bids Tuesday, according to unofficial primary election results released by the state and counties.
Winder, the highest ranking member of the Idaho Senate, lost to Republican challenger Josh Keyser in the District 20, Idaho Senate Republican primary election. With 100% of Ada County precincts reporting, Keyser secured a 281-vote victory over Winder, according to the Ada County Elections Office.

It always makes me nervous when I hear GOP losing seats. My hope is that the context is that it meant that those seats did not go to Democrats.
If I read the article correctly it was not lost seats they lost to republican challengers, this was not a general election but a primary, of course yahoo writes it up in a way to always discourage republican making you think they lost seats overall.
Be wary of the constant propaganda all the media outlets pump out, they never let up with the lies.
Literally the yahoo headline is written in a way to make a causal think republicans overall lost.

Yes—as an ex-pat Oregonian I am slightly disappointed no one has, but it is just after 4AM there.
I imagine there is some info on last night’s primary thread, but this sounds like a fairly big win that may not have been covered that well.

When Republicans support the Democratic Agenda does it really matter, the Republicans have had control of Congress that last 2 years, have they lived up to any of their promises 2 years ago.
The best thing that could happen to the Republican Party is this trend of incumbent Republicans losing to up and coming Republicans spread all over the country.
I know my US Congressman is John Rutherford, former Sheriff of Duval County, Florida for 8 years, you never hear from him, he totally supports the Republican Establishment, and his district is like 60/40 Republican, meaning he has no chance of losing except if an upstart Republican can defeat him in the primary, usually he runs unopposed.
This year he’s got a woman who claims to be 100% MAGA running against him in the primary, I plan on voting for her using the logic that Rutherford has been around far to long and needs to go, if for no other reason that giving a new person a chance.
Idaho is solidly Republican but, as is often the case, RINOs and soft core types tend to settle into power and want to be praised by the news media for making nice with the Dems, teacher unions, and progressives. These primary results show strong pushback from conservatives and seem to be part of such a trend nationally in Tuesday’s elections.
Replacing incumbents is usually a good thing

Could be the opposite. Here in Oklahoma, we have liberal scum (DemoRATs in sheep’s clothes) who run as Repugnant simply because that’s what it takes to get elected.
I fully understand the concept of how the Congress is made up.
They have plenty of control over the budget, the House has full control of the budget process.
Did the Republican Congress vote for FISA reauthorization ??
Dod the Republican Congress give up multiple Omnibus Spending packages when the promised not to.
Did the Congress give up on Border security and pass more money for Ukraine ??
That’s just a short list of things the Republicans promised if they had control of the House and didn’t follow thru on.
It’s a false argument to say they have no control at all.
I make me nervous when folks comment on headlines w/o reading the articles.
