Amazing! The US open has been thrilling to watch, as this year the audience has been incredibly diverse. Serena’s last US open appearance, with Coco Gauff, Naomi Osaka and Francis Tiafoe’s first slam semi-final brought a new dimension to professional tennis as well as a raucous crowd. Today, two white guys, one Spanish and one Norwegian are vying in the finals for the trophy, unfortunately Tiafoe’s early exit ended the diversity.

“Our flight deck should reflect the diverse group of people on board our planes every day. That’s why we plan for 50% of the 5,000 pilots we train in the next decade to be women or people of color,” United announced on Tuesday.Today, United has one of the most diverse pilot populations of any U.S. carrier with nearly 20% of our pilot group made up of women and people of color. We are working toward raising that number even higher by partnering with diversity-led organizations and continuing to remove gender and racial barriers. • Why Redheads Feel Less Pain, According to Scientists

In a seemingly paradoxical study, US researchers found that redheads have a preternaturally high pain tolerance — wait for it — due to a mechanism that ups their susceptibility to sunburns. “These findings describe the mechanistic basis behind earlier evidence suggesting varied pain thresholds in different pigmentation backgrounds,” said Dr. David Fisher of the Massachusetts General Hospital in Massachusetts. He led the fiery study published in the journal Science Advances. The research found that the cells that determine skin color — called melanocytes — play a large role in deciding how people experience pain.
  • For leftists, calls for racial equality are race-hatred

In Edmonton, Canada, a school district is busy hunting down the anonymous students who dared to demand racial equality. Those of us who came of age in the West in the second half of the 20th century believe that race is a superficial attribute and that, as Martin Luther King said, people should be judged, not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. All races are equal, both morally and before the law. The left has jettisoned this principle, something made manifest in Edmonton, Canada, where a school district is hunting down the “hate-filled”...

CBS has announced that at least half the cast of the popular and long running reality game shows, including Survivor and Big Brother, will be made up of nonwhite contestants. “The reality TV genre is an area that’s especially underrepresented, and needs to be more inclusive across development, casting, production and all phases of storytelling,” George Cheeks, president and chief executive officer for the CBS Entertainment Group, said in a statement. “As we strive to improve all of these creative aspects, the commitments announced today are important first steps in sourcing new voices to create content and further expanding the...

Michelle Obama says it was a “slap in the face’’ that minorities didn’t go to the polls in 2016 — and has no plans on re-entering the political spotlight amid a push to make her Joe Biden’s running mate. “It takes some energy to go high, and we were exhausted from it … when you’re the first black anything,’’ she said of her and her husband, former President Barack Obama, in a new Netflix documentary set to air Wednesday, May 6. “You know, the day I left the White House, it was painful to sit on that stage, and then...

DES MOINES, Iowa — Joe Biden spoke of his connection to black voters at an NAACP event Sunday afternoon and claimed his “political identity” was molded by minorities in his home state of Delaware. “I have a lot of black support because that’s where I come from. I was raised in the black church, politically, not a joke,” the former vice president said in Des Moines. “When I got into politics, I was the only white guy working on the east side, in the projects, because these were the guys I grew up with. These were the guys I worked...

In August, a photo surfaced of a boy in an Afro wig with makeup-darkened skin standing in for 11-year-old African-American actor Keith L. Williams on the Vancouver set of “Good Boys,” a comedy about three sixth-graders who ditch school and wind up on a road trip. The image sparked online outrage, and Seth Rogen, one of the film’s producers, quickly apologized, declaring that on all future projects his team would “take every precaution to make sure something similar does not take place again.” It turned out that the boy in the makeup, reportedly the son of a stuntman, was African-American...

BLOOMINGTON, Minnesota — Police in Minnesota confirmed Tuesday they were investigating the ex-boyfriend of a Temple woman missing for more than a week in connection with the 2009 disappearance of a woman from Minnesota. Bloomington Police department Public Information Officer Mike Hartley said they were looking at Cedric Marks as a possible person of interest in the missing persons case of April Pease. However, Hartley said he was not considered a suspect in the Pease case. "April Pease was reported missing in 2009 and since that time the case has been open and all leads actively investigated by our agency,...

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y) criticized CBS News Saturday night for what she considered lack of diversity in its team of reporters covering the upcoming 2020 presidential election. “This WH admin has made having a functional understanding of race in America one of the most important core competencies for a political journalist to have, yet [CBS News] hasn’t assigned a *single* black journalist to cover the 2020 election,” Ocasio-Cortez said in a tweet. “Unacceptable in 2019. Try again,” Ocasio-Cortez added.

A University of Texas senior is facing internet backlash after being crowned Miss Black University of Texas (UT). Rachael Malonson is biracial and said because of her skin tone, some people don’t recognize that. In fact, some of her critics have told her she’s not black enough. She said she entered this pageant to feel more empowered as a black woman, but after winning the competition she was met with some criticism she didn’t expect. “Someone literally asked me are you black? Can you prove it to me?” Malonson said. “I was like yes, my dad’s black and my mom’s...

Individualism, like traditional values, is infinitely more than skin deep Anyone with eyes can see that I’m a dark Black man. That and a couple dollars might buy you a cup of coffee at a trendy shop. Two terms of Obama-inflamed identity politics makes me reassert a lifelong commitment to individualism. I’m not a one-size-fits-all person. The fact I voted contrary to 96% of my ethnicity in the last two presidential elections is one of many proofs. The lemmings of liberalism marching off the cliff aren’t made cuter because many share my hue. Old school groupthink falls short of meeting...

The concept of white privilege remains controversial in the same way people still argue about climate change. A small, increasingly-fringe faction might argue that it doesn't exist at all. Another broad, more conservative group might concede that it does, technically, exist, but still disagree about what it means, whether it's important and what, if anything, we can do about it. Still, many others would argue that acknowledging and working to understand it is an important step toward fixing the problem -- in the case of white privilege, the problem being compounded, inter-generational inequality that, although sometimes subtle, is still present...

Clearly, no amount of unprecedented unlawful power-grabs, narcissistic behavior, blatant lies, and ignoring of the Constitution will sway the mainstream media and the Democrats from their loyalty to Obama. Why? The answer is that Obama is black, which makes him their ultimate weapon of mass destruction – able to nuke traditional America. Obama's mission is to cram his radical socialist/progressive dream for America down our throats. Obama’s reign of terror is but a mere preview of things to come if the MSM and Democrats are successful in duping Americans into handing Hillary Clinton the keys to the Oval Office. Just...

I didn’t say it. Morgan Freeman said it. In an interview with NPR to promote his latest film, The Magic of Belle Isle, the popular Oscar-winning actor said that people “conveniently forget that Barack had a mama, and she was white — very white American, Kansas, middle of America There was no argument about who he is or what he is. America’s first black president hasn’t arisen yet. He’s not America’s first black president — he’s America’s first mixed-race president.” Freeman implied that it’s Obama’s white side that’s the problem. This clearly fits the definition of racism: an ideology of...

Variations in skin color provide one of the best examples of evolution by natural selection acting on the human body and should be used to teach evolution in schools, according to a Penn State anthropologist. "There is an inherent level of interest in skin color and for teachers, that is a great bonus -- kids want to know," said Nina Jablonski, professor and head, Department of Anthropology, Penn State. "The mechanism of evolution can be completely understood from skin color." Scientists have understood for years that evolutionary selection of skin pigmentation was caused by the sun. As human ancestors gradually...

Today the United States finds itself adrift on a sea of uncertainty; its economy floundering under the weight of oppressive debt and mismanagement, its status in world affairs at its lowest ebb since the beginning of the 20th Century and its citizens openly questioning the future. At such a critical time the country has as its President a man unable or qualified to lead. Barack Obama is a man without a core, leaving the ship of state without a rudder in the management of foreign affairs and domestic policy which have spun dangerously out of control over the past two...
