Bing Crosby was born on 3rd May, 1903. Bing said of his profession: “I think popular music in this country is one of the few things in the twentieth century that have made giant strides in reverse.” For my personal tastes, popular music’s peak was spread across the middle of the twentieth century: Bing, Count Basie, Glen Miller, Sinatra, Elvis, Hank, The Beatles, Dylan, The Beach Boys, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, David Ackles, Michael Murphey, The Dillards, Steve Young, Paul Siebel and Willie Nelson. I rate the zenith of last century’s popular music as lasting from 1965 with the Nobel...

A singer's primary genre can impact the likelihood of developing vocal fold injury and may even influence the specific type of injury that occurs, a recent study suggests. These injuries are typically caused by overuse or straining of the voice. The study found that while nodules were nearly equally distributed across all singing genres, opera singers presented with a significantly...

"Good job at being racist and homophobic, American Idol." Those aren't my words, but they're the sentiments of plenty of fans after Sunday night's Disney-themed episode. After last night's votes were tallied, four of the show's minority contestants found themselves in elimination contention. Ada Vox, a drag queen, Jurnee, an openly gay and black contestant, Michelle Sussett, an immigrant from Venezuela, and Dennis Lorenzo, an African-American male, received the least votes after their performances. Jurnee was the only one to escape elimination. These four contestants were in the bottom because this is "Trump's America," according to some upset viewers.

It could also unlock an estimated $70 million to $100 million per year that is collected by radio stations abroad for U.S. artists, but never paid out because U.S. stations don't pay foreign...
