There was a massive police response to several crime scenes in Rancho Tehama, California Tuesday. Deputies say at least three people are dead—including the gunman. A Deputy told local media the shootings took place at several crime scenes and ‘multiple shots’ were fired at the elementary school. According to scanner traffic, children as young as 6 are among the wounded.

The armed civilian who used his assault rifle to stop Sunday’s mass murder of 26 Texas churchgoers has been hailed, rightly, as a hero, but Stephen Willeford is hardly unique. A number of armed American citizens have also used their firearms to stop or limit mass killings.

An Everett Police detective wrote in probable cause papers that the suspect who shot an Everett man twice in the head last month was “emotionless and showed that she was cold and calculating. In the end she said that she shot (the victim) two times in the head because he was preforming oral sex wrong and she did not know how to tell him that.”

Within hours of the slaughter of 26 people at the church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, Democrats were calling for expanded background checks to cover the private transfers of guns. If they had waited a few hours, they would have learned that such a law wouldn't have stopped the attack in Texas. Brian Schatz (D.) shared an excerpt of a New York Times story detailing how, while in the military, the shooter was convicted of assaulting his wife and infant step-son.
