A Democratic senator responded to the Sunday mass shooting at a Texas church by suggesting the U.S. adopt a law that is already on the books.

Hawaii Sen. Brian Schatz (D.) shared an excerpt of a New York Times story detailing how, while in the military, the shooter was convicted of assaulting his wife and infant step-son.

"A simple idea: Anyone convicted of domestic abuse should see their rights under the 2nd Amendment severely curtailed," Schatz tweeted on Monday.

In fact, federal law already prohibits domestic abusers from purchasing or owning guns.

To be fair, we must admit the truism that he is suggesting something that has been agreed to by both sides. That puts him well ahead of the gun-grabbers.

Cluelessness abounds. He’s affiliated with a political party where it doesn’t matter.

It is NEVER important WHAT a Democrat says. It is only important THAT he says. When something happens they says anything that comes to their mind. If it is stupid like this we never hear about it and they use it for fund raiser material; if there is the slightest bit of sense in it the media runs with it and cleans it up to make the Donkey look like Churchill. This one falls in the former so we won’t hear it again. It will only appear in fund raiser letters to rich liberals.

He’ll use it in his next campaign: “See, I suggested this law that would have prohibited a mass murderer from getting a gun, and we have such a law. Re-elect me, they listen to me here in DC.”

What a putz!

Air Force dropped the ball reporting the shooter’s domestic abuse to the FBI.

He also applied for a concealed carry license in TX and was rejected. I think that should have been another red flag on this guy. You have to submit fingerprints to Dept of Public Safety for that, and they probably pulled up his Air Force Record.

After a weekend when 30 were people shot, five of them fatally”

This demonstrates the point that Democrats don’t care if passing gun control laws fixes something, passing laws is all about the illusion of doing something.
