Late last week, U.S. District Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange in Oklahoma City ruled that a state amendment prohibiting courts from considering Sharia law when ruling in cases was unconstitutional. In her (decision) he judge said that because the amendment discriminated among religions, the state had to demonstrate a compelling state interest to justify it — something Oklahoma failed to do:

The judge says that “upholding an individual’s constitutional rights” is more important than the will of the masses. I would agree if indeed the will of the masses violated the constitutional rights of an individual. However, I’m not sure how it’s an “individual’s constitutional right” to have a US court consider sharia or international law when adjudicating a case: CBN NEWS – A U.S. district judge permanently blocked an Oklahoma law forbidding courts from considering Islamic or international law when deciding cases. “While the public has an interest in the will of the voters being carried out, the court finds...

When young girls are sold into marriage, as 38,000 are every day, they can expect a life with no education and few opportunities, little public autonomy outside of their adult husband’s control and an increased risk of death from pregnancy or childbirth, which are the number one killer of girls age 15 to 18 in the developing world. One in seven girls born in the developing world is married by age 15, usually sold by her family.

In his book, “Slavery, Terrorism and Islam: The Historical Roots and Contemporary Threat” Dr. Peter Hammond, who holds a doctoral degree in Christian Theology, offers us some useful insight into the effects of a growing population in various countries. Dr. Hammond’s presentation emphasizes his findings that a growing Muslim population means growing problems for the non-Muslim and even non-radical Muslim population in a given country. He breaks down the percentage of Muslims in various countries as not currently a problem as in America (0..6) to (1.8% in Norway) all the way up to 100% Muslim Afghanistan. His research shows that...

Anthony “Carlos Danger” Weiner has earned himself a rather undesirable distinction. According to the latest poll from Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y., the disgraced former congressman-turned-New York City mayoral candidate has the highest unfavorable rating ever on record for the pollster. Eighty percent of New York state voters have an unfavorable opinion of Weiner, while only 11% saw him in a positive light. That tops the 79% unfavorable rating held by former New York governor-turned-New York City comptroller candidate Eliot Spitzer after he resigned from the governorship in 2008 over his prostitution scandal. Three-quarters of Democrats and New York City...

New Delhi: A Muslim man has been absolved of charges of illegally confining and raping a minor from the same religion, whom he had married later by a Delhi court. The court cited the Mohamedan Law that allows a 15-year-old girl to marry against the wishes of her parents. The accused was charged with rape and illegal confinement under the IPC. The IPC treats a girl as minor, in relation to the offence of rape, till she attains the age of 16 years and establishing physical relations with her, even with her consent, is an offence entailing life term as...

Walid Shoebat, Muslim apostate and former al Qaeda member explains Muruna–the tactic which allows Muslims to violate the strict prohibitions of Sharia law in order to deceive the infidel enemy. “Muruna,” says Shoebat, “is literally accomplished by permitting behavior normally so eschewed by Sharia that Westerners logically assume a more moderate version of Islam when such prohibitions are suddenly permitted. Westerners’ eyes are, in fact, deceiving them.” Apply Shoebat’s words to the actions of Huma Abedin and make up your own mind.

The recent acquittal in the George Zimmerman case reignited a national discussion about race relations in America. There were many on one end of the spectrum, who stated the Zimmerman case typifies the lack of racial equity and justice in America for Black-americans, from the initial profiling of Trayvon Martin, the trying of his character during the legal procedure to the not-guilty verdict for Zimmerman. Others countered that Zimmerman was within his legal right to defend himself and that the case has nothing to do with race. Some even went to the extreme of saying Martin was a thug who...

Aleppo rebel religious committee forbids ‘colonial’ croissants A sharia committee in a rebel-held area of Aleppo issued a fatwa deeming croissants ‘haram’ (forbidden in Islamic law) because of their “colonial” significance, pan-Arab daily Asharq al-Awsat reported on Tuesday. Croissants’ crescent shape celebrates European victory over Muslims, according to the fatwa (religious ruling). Rebel-controlled areas of the Syrian city have experienced several strict fatwas recently from Islamic sharia committees. Such edicts are uncommon in Aleppo’s society, which usually adheres to moderate Islamic teachings, Asharq al-Awsat reported. A sharia committee in the city issued a fatwa on Facebook prohibiting “Muslim women...

Recently the North Carolina legislature passed American Laws for American Courts (ALAC) legislation with broad bipartisan support. The purpose of ALAC is to protect individual, fundamental constitutional rights in cases involving foreign laws and foreign legal doctrines. Among those fundamental constitutional rights are freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, due process and equal protection under the law. One of the primary opponents of ALAC legislation is the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), which seeks to supplant US constitutional rights and norms by accommodating foreign laws and foreign legal doctrines, such as Shariah....

-snip- Though her friends say she is strong and resolute and defiant, sadly she makes all women look like weak and helpless victims. She was not standing there in a position of strength. It was such a setback for women everywhere. -snip- Yet I can’t help blaming Abedin for condoning this behavior and allowing this charade to continue. In a Post story Thursday, Karen Tumulty wrote that Abedin, a longtime key aide to Hillary Clinton, has been playing the Hillary card to solicit money from Clinton donors, who are too afraid of alienating Hillary Clinton to turn Abedin down. Then...

Anthony Weiner’s already limp mayoral campaign suffered another huge blow yesterday, when his campaign manager reportedly abandoned the sinking ship. Danny Kedem quit as Weiner’s campaign point man following a disastrous week on the trail, the New York Times reported this morning. With Kedem out of the already shrunken campaign staff, the longshot City Hall bid appeared to be floundering. A campaign spokeswoman would not confirm or deny the report. Weiner stood firm despite his travails yesterday, spending much of the day in his apartment shooting a campaign ad.

Author James Michener famously said of Hawaii’s nineteenth century New England missionaries that they went to the islands to do good and ended up doing very, very well. Washington commentator Mark Shields has likened those missionaries to many people who come to Washington—all starry-eyed with idealism upon their arrival but later fixated on the ongoing Beltway stampede for a share of the largess bestowed upon the city’s insiders as they combine government service with often-grubby private pursuits. Which calls to mind Huma Abedin, wife of the disgraced former congressman, Anthony Weiner, and a darling of former secretary of state Hillary...

Huma Abedin, the wife of New York mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner, AKA Carlos Danger, is facing an ongoing Senate investigation into the consulting fees she earned while also working as a State Department employee for then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) has been investigating Abedin’s activities as a paid consultant while she was still working for Clinton toward the end of her tenure. In June, 2012, Abedin changed her employment status at the State Department from being a full time employee with the title of deputy chief of staff to being a “special government employee,” a...

That title allowed her to work from home as a part-time consultant to State, earning $135,000 as a government employee -- while also earning $355,000 as a consultant for Teneo, where former President Bill Clinton is a board member.

New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner admitted Thursday that he sent racy text messages to up to three women after he resigned in disgrace from Congress in 2011. The admission came after Weiner, who resigned due to sexually explicit behavior while in office, was grilled by a reporter on Thursday about how many women he had sent sexual texts to. After dodging the question and saying it wasn't "dozens and dozens," Weiner admitted it was more like between six and 10. Asked how many of those exchanges occurred since his resignation, he said "I don't believe I had any...
