Of course, when I was 17 I didn’t even think of those possibilities myself — I waited till the day I turned 18, and left about 30 minutes after I woke up...

My fiancee just made a good point, why is the court being asked to make a Christian attend Muslim counseling, in gitmo we don’t make Muslims attend Chrisitan counseling.

It’s not just that. THe thing that this girl was originally upset about was that her parents were getting ready to ship her to Sri Lanka for an arranged marriage and that her “husband” would kill her when she refused to marry him and was Chrisitan.

I wonder what the courts could do if she married an 18-19 y/o guy. Even if it is a marriage of convenience, could they prove it before she turns 18? In Ohio, would that protect her from the parents and remove her from the court's jurisdiction? I hope this young lady is considering all her options, and I hope she survives in the face of the Religion of Peace.

I have mixed feelings about this situation. What would Christian parents do if their child converted to islam? Wouldn’t they want their kid to talk with a pastor? So do we reinforce ‘children’s rights’ and allow kids to follow whatever whim they want?

What incredible courage and faith this kid is showing! The Lord is truly standing with her during a test that few adults could endure. If she lives, she is going to end up as some kind of great worker for the faith.

May her parents be thwarted in all their fell plans!
