Republican Sen. Mitt Romney says he's "sickened" by the level of dishonesty the special counsel found in President Donald Trump's administration. The one-time GOP presidential nominee tweeted that it's "good news" Trump was not charged with wrongdoing in the investigation. But Romney, who's now a senator from Utah, was critical of what he called the "pervasiveness of dishonesty and misdirection" at the highest levels of the administration, "including the president."

A thief was busted with several steaks shoved down his pants legs while making his moped getaway in the pouring rain on Monday, Nash County deputies say. Earlier, the man stole several steaks -- worth more than $100 -- from the Nashville Walmart, according to deputies. Keith Jordan stuffed at least nine packages of steaks down both his pants legs, the Nash County Sheriff's Office said. He then walked out of the store without paying, according to officials. Deputies posted photos on Facebook of the seized steaks along with Jordan and his moped. "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor...

  • Donald Trump: I would have prevented 9/11

Donald Trump says he's not blaming George W. Bush for 9/11, but he claims that if he'd been president, the attacks never would have happened. In an appearance on "Fox News Sunday," the real estate mogul said that since he's "extremely, extremely tough on immigration" the attackers wouldn't have been in position to commandeer U.S. flights. "So there's a good chance that those people would not have been in our country," Trump said. He took another shot at Jeb Bush for claiming that Bush's brother, the 43rd president, kept the nation safe. "I'm not blaming George Bush," Trump said. "But...

Donald Trump Settled a Real Estate Lawsuit, and a Criminal Case Was Closed By MIKE McINTIRE APRIL 5, 2016 For Donald J. Trump, it is a long-held legal strategy, if not a point of pride, to avoid knuckling under to plaintiffs in court. “I don’t settle lawsuits — very rare — because once you settle lawsuits, everybody sues you,” he said recently. But Mr. Trump made an exception when buyers of units in Trump SoHo, a 46-story luxury condominium-hotel in Lower Manhattan, asserted that they had been defrauded by inflated claims made by Mr. Trump, his children and others of...

Mitt Romney will give a speech on the state of the 2016 presidential race on Thursday, his office said. Romney is scheduled to address the Hinckley Institute of Politics Forum at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City on Thursday morning, according to an advisory sent to reporters. Utah holds its Republican caucuses on March 22, a day after the last scheduled debate in Salt Lake City announced last month. Romney has been outspoken in denouncing frontrunner Donald Trump, calling on him to release his tax returns and questioning his fitness to be commander in chief.
  • Trump Derangement Syndrome Turns Into Treason - The real threat we face is not from Trump's rhetoric

The stakes in 2016 are huge and the party is fractured. The rhetoric reflects a Trump Derangement Syndrome in which Trump is either a monster or a savior, instead of a politician. On the left, Bush Derangement Syndrome expressed itself in the conviction that he was unalterably and uniquely worse than every other president and would get around to declaring martial law and ruling forever. The danger of exaggeration is that previously unacceptable views suddenly become acceptable. Bush Derangement Syndrome made it acceptable for Democrats to descend into open treason by making common cause with Saddam Hussein, the Sunni terrorist...

The most politically active members of the Republican Party have warmed to Donald Trump’s bid for the party’s presidential nomination since last summer, according to a new YouGov poll, which finds 68 percent now think he could win the general election. While most surveys attempt to reflect the entire electorate, this one is the latest in a trio of polls focusing solely on Republican activists: well-informed party stalwarts who've run for or held office, served as party officials, worked on campaigns or volunteered their time before elections. They provide some insight into the role of GOP political leaders in an...
  • Gallup: 'Trump Most Unpopular Candidate of Either Party' By Far

Research from the polling firm Gallup has found that Donald Trump is the "most unpopular candidate" for president in either major party - both in this election and all the way back to 1992. Trump's unfavorable rating currently stands at 60 percent, which is substantially higher than that of any of his Republican rivals. Former Florida governor Jeb Bush is at 45 percent, and everyone else is even lower: Chris Christie is at 38 percent, Ted Cruz is at 37 percent, Marco Rubio is at 33 percent, and the reliably likable Ben Carson is only at 30 percent. In the...

I have had more than one medical professional warn me that Donald Trump is a pathological narcissistic sociopath. I do not say that lightly nor to smear him. Look the terms up and talk to psychiatric professionals. A few have already written about this and spoken out. While, I want to be clear as do they, no one can officially diagnosis this with out private sessions, I have had more than one professional have laugh at me when I suggested in Trumps defense that maybe he “wasn’t a sociopath”. I warn you with as much conviction as I warned in...

Former Gov. Mitt Romney (R-Mass.) said on Sunday that Republicans should not doubt the conservative credentials of possible GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush. Romney argued that Bush, Florida’s former governor, would proudly represent conservative values should he seek the White House in 2016. “Governor Bush is a man of integrity,” Romney, the 2012 GOP nominee, told host Chuck Todd on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “He has very strong record,” he said. “He doesn’t have to speak his way into conservatism, he’s lived conservatism.” Romney’s praise comes as Bush weighs an Oval Office bid next election cycle. He is expected to...
