Paul Manafort, hired last week to be the convention manager, will now run the Trump campaign, with campaign manager Corey Lewandowski reduced to a role that amounts to body man and scheduler.

All the actual evidence I have seen says that Cory’s role is unchanged and Paul’s role has been added.

I love to see Cruzers giddy over this stuff. It's too bad you guys can't find anything redeeming about your own candidate anymore.

Trump is smart to add to the team. And he's smart enough to know he won't need more than the first ballot. Cruz is done.

I’ll take Manafort. Cruz has Neil Bush and Mitt “I prefer Obama to Trump” Romney. Birds of a feather...

Here’s some help for the hyper ventilating Cruzies:

Won’t be long long now for Loser Cruz.

This is a sign of the end for Trump. Cruz is surging. Kasish has the best chance of beating Hillary....

It’s kind of sad to see what Cruz supporters have been reduced to.

You see, the more they trash Trump and his campaign, the more pathetic Ted’s campaign looks, since it’s proven to be inferior by the populace that votes.

People didn’t believe me when I said Trump threw Lebowski under the bus.

I actually think this is a mistake. These old time old GOPe (and worse) political professionals did not help Michelle Bachmann, nor Scott Walker etc...

Lebowski got Trump there.

Opportunistic hacks like Manifold and ex-Walker professional don’t strike me as a good way for Trump to go.

Who knows. Only time will tell.

I think it’s a wise move. The ‘debate’ stage of this campaign is over. It’s now about closing the deal. Trump is the only remaining candidate who will have a path to the 1237 delegates all the way until the very last day of the primary season.

My count gives him 1205 delegates at the end. He going to have to forego some of his sensibilities and just buy the 50 or so delegates he’ll need to go over the top.

Oh yah, just like when the coach pulls his starting QB when he’s got a 3 touchdown lead in the 4th quarter...

>>Way to go Mr. Outsider

Hiring insiders is part of that “ground game” that the Cruztians say that is critical to winning.

Trump won this far using rookies and a skeleton crew. Trump was able to pick an rookie out and that shows Trump’s 50 years as executive has given him an eye for talent. But now is the time to transition to the professional mercenaries who are experts at this game.

Yup. What we are seeing in this staff expansion is the beginning of the oft mentioned PIVOT from winning the primaries TO the start of letting the whole country, independents and democrats included see Trump being Presidential! There is and always has been a method to the madness.

Seriously.......has any New York Freeper got a report on the voter turnout in New York State. Maybe someone can post a feedline for reports on turnout in NY. I believe nothing the media says......whether good or bad. Would rather hear from Freepers then the TV & press media. I have seen no posted report on turnout all day, so far. Thanks....would sincerely appreciate input, please.

Trump's a counter-puncher. When it became obvious that the rules would be manipulated beyond comprehension, Trump brought in folks who could beat the players at their own game. Besides that, these are two very capable folks at the game that Cruz and other snakes can't add to their teams.

I'm wondering if it will also serve the purpose of having political insiders thinking it might not be such a good idea to play these games with Cruz.

And if Cruz wins on a 2nd ballot? What then Solson? Will you support him or is it Bernie for you?
