We remember that eleven years ago today nearly three thousand of our fellow Americans were killed by evil men. Every year on the anniversary of 9-11, we read out the names of those who died and comfort their families, and at military recruiting centers throughout the country, young men and women choose this day to enlist to serve their fellow Americans and ensure that something like this never hap pens again. While some try to move on with their lives and let the tragedy of that day recede in their memories, our men and women in uniform remain ever vigilant...

It's been eleven years since terrorists attacked the United States on September 11, 2001, and the lessons have not been forgotten. In the intervening years, the United States' foreign and domestic security policy has been revamped and improved, and we have not suffered another attack on American soil. President George W. Bush's words to a joint session of Congress mere days after the atrocities echo with a message of vigilince, tolerance and thoughtfulness. I will excerpt them here, but highly recommend reading them in full. On September the 11th, enemies of freedom committed an act of war against our country....

Welcome To The FR Canteen September 11th Never Forget September 11th is designated as Patriot Day, in memory of the nearly three thousand people who died in the September 11th, 2001 attacks on our Country."After the attacks on 9/11, America resolved that we would go on the offense against our enemies, and we would not distinguish between the terrorists and those who harbor and support them. All Americans honor the selfless men and women of our Armed Forces, the dedicated members of our public safety, law enforcement, and intelligence communities, and the thousands of others who work...

AP Exclusive: Calif. 9/11 fund raided for deficits SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — After the 2001 terrorist attacks, California lawmakers sought a way to channel the patriotic fervor and use it to help victims' families and law enforcement. Their answer: Specialty memorial license plates emblazoned with the words, "We Will Never Forget." Part of the money raised through the sale of the plates was to fund scholarships for children of California residents who perished in the attacks, while the majority — 85 percent — was to help fund anti-terrorism efforts. But a review by The Associated Press of the $15 million...

A simmering controversy surrounding the "Ground Zero Cross" exposes the intolerance and absolutism behind ongoing battles over religious symbols on public property. Contrary to popular belief, it's not Christian conservatives who normally start these bitter disputes. It's more often atheist activists who seek to alter the long-standing status quo by scrubbing the landscape of the most visible signs of the nation's religious heritage. American Atheists, an organization representing the civil liberties of agnostics, filed suit in 2011 to block display of the Ground Zero Cross anywhere on the grounds of the new memorial museum planned for the World Trade...

Ex-CIA chief defends waterboarding of al Qaeda leader Jose Rodriguez has no regrets about using the "enhanced interrogation techniques" - methods that some consider torture -- on al Qaeda detainees questioned after 9/11 and denies charges they didn't work. The former head of the CIA's Clandestine Service talks to Lesley Stahl about those methods, including waterboarding, for the first time and defends their use - even comparing them to the current policy of killing al Qaeda leaders with drone strikes. The Rodriguez interview will be broadcast on 60 Minutes Sunday, April 29 at 7 p.m. ET/PT. Rodriguez says everything his...

There was a time when there was no need to explain what happened on December 7, 1941. It was one of those dates every American knew, and it opened a well of hurt and rage, pride and determination, and a hundred other memories and emotions. Nothing else needed to be said. December 7th. That was enough. It was one of those dates. Much like September 11th today. A date which would live in infamy. So said Franklin Roosevelt when he appeared before Congress the next day and asked it to declare that a state of war had existed between the...

Once again, the real news in France is conveniently not being reported as it should. To give you an idea of what’s going on in France where there are now between 5 and 6 million Muslims and about 600,000 Jews, here is an email that came from a Jew living in France. Will the world say nothing – again – as it did in Hitler’s time? “I am a Jew — therefore I am forwarding this to everyone on all my e-mail lists. I will not sit back and do nothing. Nowhere have the flames of anti-Semitism burned more furiously...

Yesterday, singer Tony Bennett appeared on Sirius Radio to promote his new album, "Duets II", and told Howard Stern we caused the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks by bombing 'them' and they flew the planes into the World Trade Center to tell us to 'stop'. Bennett said: “Who’s the terrorist? Are they the terrorists or are we the terrorists? Two wrongs don’t make a right.” He later added, “They flew the plane in" but "we caused it" because "we were bombing them and they told us to stop."

America's economy could have collapsed after 9/11, but instead, it rebounded. Its people could have sunk into depression, but we rose to the challenge of rebuilding and supporting those who had lost so much. Taking time to commemorate the sacrifice and loss of so many Americans is fitting; many columns and programs have done so. I prefer to remember how, in the days after 9/11, Americans pulled together to bounce back. In a visit to Israel in 2005, a citizen observed, "In Israel, we respond differently to terrorist attacks. We don't make a site a memorial to those who died....

The root cause of September 11 was fundamentalist Islam. The West responded to that provocation with overwhelming Military force, but Military force (as we learned the hard way) is not enough, we need to fight an idea with another set of ideas. Cast your minds back to the Cold War. The Soviets offered a perverted vision of the future of mankind, it was elegantly written and beautifully argued - and it was seductive. The Free World countered by emphasising the timeless message of the Gospel and the Judeo-Christian foundations of Free Societies. An alternative vision was presented. This planet has...

British and Americans lay wreaths at a ceremony in London. Mobs of Islamofascists show up to shout threats, curse America, burn our flag, and threaten jihad. What do London Police do? Nothing to the jihadists, but they force the memorial ceremony to end and its participants to leave, to avoid an "incident." So much for freedom of speech. Shame on you, Britain. It's terrible to see a once great nation die at the hands of political correctness. VIDEO

On this 10th Anniversary of the September 11th attack on America we’ll hear politicians and pundits wringing their hands over the “tragic events” of that morning. They’ll wonder aloud whether we’ve “learned anything” in these past ten years and whether we’ve achieved the correct level of “tolerance” and “understanding” that is so desperately needed to solve our worlds problems. From our president we will hear a call to community service and a plea to find volunteer opportunities in our neighborhoods, because, you know… the real message behind 9/11 is to plant a garden at the local welfare office. What we...

FYI, MSNBC is now showing archival footage of the news broadcasts from the morning of 9-11-2001. It will be on for another hour and a half, until 9pm central time.

The tragic events of 9/11 were immediately followed by a grotesque and shameful fusillade of anti-Americanism, which still resonates today. I had already written my column that day. I still recall, although almost everything else from that morning is wiped from my memory, that the subject of it – this column that no one would ever see – was Tony Blair's upcoming appearance at the TUC conference. Because I had been engrossed in producing my copy for the next day, September 12, 2001, I had not heard any news. In the early afternoon, I filed my piece and turned on...

National Security: The Sept. 11 commission stated that our biggest failure was one of imagination. Imagine an Iranian nuclear device detonating high over the American heartland. They're working on it. On the same day the 9/11 Commission issued its report, another commission issued a report on a threat that could change our world and way of life in ways we can scarcely imagine. It is a real and credible threat, and it is largely being ignored. The threat is a phenomenon known as electromagnetic pulse, or EMP, and demonstrates why the issue of homeland security extends beyond the need for...

In the ten years since the attacks of the United States of America on September 11, 2001, I have done a LOT of serious reflection and looking back. This serious reflection and looking back has made me realize that from out of this comes ten important things I have learned over the course of the ten years. The list of the ten things I have learned about in regards to this horrible event in the life of America in general and for I as an American in a special way. What I have learned in the decade from that fateful...

Sunday, September 11, 2011, will mark ten years since the horrible attacks on the United States of America by Islamofacists who had hijacked four jet airplanes with the intention of using them as bombs to not only take out the World Trade Center’s two towers of New York City,NY,USA, but also the Pentagon of Washington D.C.,USA, and with the last hijacked airplane which was to be used to take out either the USA Capitol building or the White House. That hijacked jet never made its target, rather it would become what I would call “the flight of heroes”, United Airlines...
