  • Kerry's Japan visit paves way for Obama apology tour

If John Kerry's remarks in Japan are any indication, you can be sure that President Barack Obama will apologize for the U.S.'s World War II atom bombing of Hiroshima. Obama seems bent on coming full circle by ending his two terms in office the way he began it --with an apology tour, Cuba lately, Japan next. Apologizing for America is an Obama theme, and he is expected to continue it during his visit to Japan, a World War II enemy that provoked a war with the U.S.

When John Kerry toured the Hiroshima Peace Memorial and Museum this week before meeting foreign ministers at the G-7 Summit, Reuters reports that he had witnessed “haunting displays [of] photographs of badly burned victims, the tattered and stained clothes they wore and statues depicting them with flesh melting from their limbs.” “It is a stunning display. It is a gut-wrenching display,” explained Kerry. “It is a reminder of the depth of the obligation every one of us in public life carries … to create and pursue a world free from nuclear weapons.” Iran exempted, of course. But, really, is this...

Theyre not an existential threat to us. That was President Obama, defending his seeming indifference to the latest ISIS terrorist attack in Europe. Groups like (ISIS) cant destroy us, they cant defeat us. They dont produce anything, he said. (Well, they are producing oil and bombs and fresh new terrorists, but never mind.) So what should the U.S. do to fight this non-existential threat that doesnt produce anything? Lets put on a show!

(CNSNews.com) Tuesdays terrorist attack in Brussels was not about religion but a depraved ideology, State Department spokesman John Kirby told reporters. This isnt about a religion, he said. This is about a warped and brutal, depraved ideology that continues to be attractive to a small number of people in the Muslim faith radicals and extremists. And we dont believe that it is indicative in any way of the Muslim faith or the people who practice Islam as a religion, Kirby continued. But it is a group that remains deadly, remains lethal. Under the terms of the Iranian nuclear sellout, the United Nations Security Council must approve the sale of certain conventional weapons to Iran. Since the United States has a veto in the Security Council, this means that the United States can veto such sales. It was recently announced that Iran intends to purchase the latest Sukhoi-30 warplanes from Russia. Those warplanes would need to be approved by the Security Council under the terms of the nuclear sellout. Kerry focused on the Palestinian conflict with Israel and sought to draw a distinction between the two-state policy model, which he supports, and the one-state policy model, which he rejects. To justify his rejection of a policy based on Israeli sovereignty over areas beyond the 1949 armistice lines, Kerry raised a series of questions about what a one-state policy would look like. • Kerry: Deal Would 'Guarantee' Iran 'Wont Possibly Be Able to Advance' Nuke Program

In aneditorialfor the new issue of THE WEEKLY STANDARD, Bill Kristol notes the "ludicrous" "guarantee" Secretary of State John Kerry made last week regarding Iran's so-called breakout capacity towards nuclear weapons. Kerry told Israelis: I say to every Israeli that today we have the ability to stop [the Iranians] if they decided to move quickly to a bomb and I absolutely guarantee that in the future we will have the ability to know what they are doing so that we can still stop them if they decided to move to a bomb. This is not the first time Kerry has...

In a rare interview with Israeli television, US Secretary of State John Kerry pledged Saturday that inspections to prevent Iran from attaining nuclear weapons would stay in place forever, and accused critics of the world powers emerging deal with Iran of hysteria. Evidently seeking to placate the public in Israel, where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been a bitter and relentless critic of the deal, Kerry pledged: We will not sign a deal that does not close off Irans pathways to a bomb and that doesnt give us the confidence to all of our experts, in fact to global...

The world is "closer than ever" to reaching a comprehensive nuclear deal with Iran but the work is far from over, with key issues unresolved, Secretary of State John Kerry on Monday told a global gathering on nuclear disarmament, where he and Iran's foreign minister met on the sidelines. Several of the world's nuclear powers over the month ahead will discuss progress on a landmark treaty on disarmament, with Israel attending for the first time in two decades as an observer. Diplomats said the ongoing Iran discussions are separate from the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, or NPT, review conference, which is...

Sure - exactly with America needs. A theocratic fanatic who wants to wipe Israel off the map and leads the chants of "Death to America" every Friday after prayers. What could have possessed our secretary of state to tell his Iranian counterpart that he wishes the US had a leader like Iran's Supreme Leader? Washington Free Beacon: Secretary of State John Kerry told his Iranian counterpart that he wished the United States had a leader more like Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, according to comments made by a senior Iranian cleric and repeated in the country’s state-run media. Ayatollah Alam...

US Secretary of State John Kerry urged the Shiite Houthi rebels in Yemen to participate in UN-brokered negotiations to end violence ravaging the country. This has to be a two-way street, Kerry told reporters in Canada after taking part in a summit of Arctic nations. We need the Houthi and we need those that can influence them to make sure that they are prepared to try to move to the negotiating table, Kerry said. Yemens former President Ali Abdullah Saleh had called on Friday for all Yemenis to enter a political dialogue to end the conflict.

US Secretary of State John Kerry assumed the chairmanship of the Arctic Council, and immediately made it clear that despite worrisome Russian military moves in the Arctic, the US would not challenge them. Washington Examiner: >>>>In assuming the leadership role, Kerry laid out a robust agenda to face the threat of climate change in the Arctic, which he says is being affected by global warming more than anywhere else in the world. But when faced with questions over whether the U.S. will use its new leadership position to address threats posed by Russia, Kerry said no. Kerry said the idea...

Secretary of State John Kerry on Sunday morning defended the preliminary nuclear deal struck with Iran by the Obama administration earlier this month, saying during an interview with ABCs "This Week" that, so far, Iran has lived up to and lived by every requirement in that agreement. The administration announced the framework of a historic nuclear deal with Iran on April 2, but in the days since, American and Iranian negotiators have provided different interpretations of what, exactly, was agreed upon. Kerry pushed back on criticism leveled by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who said last week that Kerry was delusional...

The United States plans to continue its efforts to pursue a nuclear deal with Iran, but will not allow Tehran to run amok and do as it pleases, said Secretary of State John Kerry. If needed, the US will respond forcefully to Iranian efforts to destabilize the Middle East, Kerry said in an interview. "Iran needs to recognize that the United States is not going to stand by while the region is destabilized or while people engage in overt warfare across lines - international boundaries - in other countries, Kerry told PBS in an interview Wednesday. The US is well...
