King County Superior Court upheld legislation allowing the City of Seattle to tax gun and ammunition sales, according to documents released on Tuesday. Seattle City Council unanimously approved the "Gun and Violence Tax" in August; it charges $25 for every firearm legally sold in Seattle. In addition to the 2 to 5 cents added to sales of certain types of ammunition, it would owners require reporting lost or stolen guns within 24 hours of their disappearance.
