They have absolutely no fear of America under Obama’s leadership. In a recent TV interview, IRGC Navy Commander Ali Fadavi said: “The Americans are aware that if they make even the slightest mistake, their naval vessels will be sunk in the Persian Gulf, the Hormuz Strait, and the Sea of Oman.” He further claimed that Iran’s vessels would emerge from “undersea tunnels,” in which “no force will be able to harm our naval vessels.” In the interview, which aired on IRINN TV on May 10, Fadavi maintained that the crew of U.S. vessels is now obliged to speak Farsi in...

Iran's semi-official FARS news agency says that the country's navy has warned a U.S. warship to leave an area in the sea of Oman where Iran has been conducting a naval drill. [...] Iran on Wednesday began a naval drill near the Strait of Hormuz, through which one fifth of the world oil supply passes. The warning was the first such incident since 10 U.S. sailors were briefly captured by Iran on Jan. 13 after drifting into Iranian territorial waters. ...

Once upon a time, I would have dismissed this report as the ravings of a fascist government. Now, unfortunately, this type of report has become totally believable. According to Iranian television, a US Naval destroyer fled the area of the Sea of Oman where Iran was conducting a naval drill after being 'warned' to leave. Let's go to the videotape. The 'highlight' is from the 2:00 mark to the end.

Iranian warship the Jamaran on Sunday test-fired a home-built torpedo for the first time as part of ongoing naval war games in the Gulf, state television's website reported. "This torpedo is anti-submarine and when it is fired from the warship, it automatically hunts for the submarine and destroys it," navy commander Arya Hassani was quoted as saying. The report said the torpedo was fired from the Iran-built Jamaran, which was deployed earlier this year. It has a displacement of around 1,400 tonnes and is equipped for electronic warfare. On Wednesday the Islamic republic's navy began eight days of manoeuvres in...

In Phases Two and Three of Iran's biggest sea exercise ever (May 6-7), debkafile's military sources report its Navy and Revolutionary Guards acted out a scenario for driving US naval forces out of the Persian Gulf after defeating them - as well as responding to potential retaliatory American WMD strikes. Thursday night, May 6, Iran's foreign minister Manouchehr Mottaki meanwhile informed the 15 Security Council members he invited to dinner at UN headquarters, New York, that his government would "definitely continue its nuclear program." They all attended including a low-ranking US official. The eight-day war game, dubbed "The Last Prophet"...

Iran's navy will on Wednesday start eight days of war games in the Gulf and the Sea of Oman, state television said, less than two weeks after the Islamic Republic's Revolutionary Guards held manoeuvres in the Gulf. Habibollah Sayari, commander of the navy, said the exercises would display its defence capability, Al Alam television, Iran's Arabic-language satellite television, reported on Tuesday. In exercises held in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz between April 22 and 25, official media said the Guards tested missiles and a new speedboat capable of destroying enemy ships. Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman on Tuesday called...
