Step forward and stand tall, millennials, your moment has come at last. The baby boomers are starting to retire. Generation X is turning tired and gray. But millennials are now the single largest bloc of citizens and workers, 80 million strong. The keys to the country are in your hands. Please don’t drive it into a ditch.

For all the U-S-A, U-S-A rah rah that goes around, the United States can be a shameful place.  The below map lays out some of the statistically worst things about each state. It covers everything from health to crime to travel to drug use. Some states don't have it so bad (Ohio, the "nerdiest") but others really kind of suck (Mississippi has the highest rate of obesity at 35.3% of total population ... and ranks poorly in the most number of categories. These include highest rate of child poverty at 31.9%, highest rate of infant mortality at 10.3% lowest median household...

NEW YORK (AP) -- Employers are catching more workers using methamphetamine, but the drug’s spread into the workplace appears to have slowed considerably, a new study finds. Employers who screen job applicants and workers for drugs saw the number testing positive for amphetamines increase by 6 percent last year. Positive tests for methamphetamine, one of two stimulants in that class of drugs, increased by 3 percent, according to a report to be released Monday by Quest Diagnostics Inc. Penniless pornographer Al Goldstein has "screwed" up his life some more — after being caught shoplifting books from a Barnes & Nobles yesterday, police said. And they weren't even dirty books. Goldstein, 68, the ex-publisher of Screw Magazine, was stopped by security on his way out of the chain's Lincoln Center store at 1972 Broadway, with three books, a police source said. The search for 12-year-old Nicolas Zavala--who disappeared after falling through the cracks of Illinois' child welfare system--ended Friday when skeletal remains found in a Downstate field were identified as his.
