Millennials Are Totally Mixed Up About What They Believe In
New York Post ^ | 9/3 | Kyle Smith

Step forward and stand tall, millennials, your moment has come at last. The baby boomers are starting to retire. Generation X is turning tired and gray. But millennials are now the single largest bloc of citizens and workers, 80 million strong. The keys to the country are in your hands.

Please don’t drive it into a ditch.

The Millennials are the most screwed-up generation I’ve ever seen. They want everything and to pay for nothing. They are in for a rude awakening in the years to come.

Come on, let's face it: millennials don't really believe in anything. Sure, they'll all mouth some vapid gibberish about "making the world a better place" or some such meaningless claptrap, but ask them WHY and they stare at you like you just stole their iPhone.

They're not even idealists; they're just puppets mouthing every neo-marxist mantra they've been primed with since kindergarten and before.

We geezers had better be able to take care of ourselves, because if we're leaving our care to them, we'll be eating Alpo and marinating in our own excretions.

Millennials are going to get bent over and screwed more than pretty much every other generation that came before them.

>>Please don’t drive it into a ditch.

They won’t drive it anywhere. Their hands are off the wheel. Their attention is not on the road. If it is rolling, then it will roll to wherever it is pointing.

Their children or grandchildren will be men and women of iron, tested and sharpened by a life of hardship, who will pull their nation out of the ditch.

But before we blame the lazy and clueless Millennials for everything, remember who their parents are: parents who walked them on leashes in the mall, parents who wouldn’t let them get hurt because it would make the parents look bad, parents who wouldn’t back up the threat of “if you keep acting like this, we’re going home and you can eat a sandwich for dinner”. They are the parents who got divorced or never even married because they “drifted apart” and one parent taught the child to hate the other, while the other tried to buy the kid’s love.

I feel bad for millennials. I’m not usually one to blame “society” when things go badly, but the millennials were made by the generations that came before.

The schools, the government, the debt-laden economy — it’s all a powder keg and the millennials were not given good training in how to defuse it.

I know some very competent millennials, so there is some hope, but a lot of these young people are going to be totally screwed. And I always say that, past a certain age, people cannot change. If you point out a 24-year-old “pajama boy” who is headed in a bad direction, you can hope that he might “turn it around” but I’d say 99% of the time his (or her) course is set and there is no hope for a turn-around.

It’s sad.

I can vouch for that. I have a friend who scolded for me saying "no" to her child. I wanted to correct the little guy but she said "you should not be saying no to him." I did not think of it at the time but I should have countered with the the Ten Commandments. 'No' is in every verse.

“They are in for a rude awakening in the years to come.”

Especially as their parents die off and they have no one to care for them because they have failed to thrive and learn to care for themselves.

I know. People here act like Millennials were created in some vacuum. It weren't Millennials who decided a college degree should cost as much as a home and take as long to pay it off. It weren't Millennials who sent the U.S. manufacturing base overseas and imported millions of low-skilled workers to staff the jobs that couldn't be exported.

They are a product of the generation whore bore and raised them.

Just my observation. Most millennials think believe everyone is the same and they lack critical thinking skills.

I feel bad, real bad, for them, too.

It’s always easier to judge if you do it without understanding.

I feel sorry for them. Since birth they have been indoctrinated by pure garbage on “Children’s” TV. Then they have 6 years of pure garbage in elementary school. Then they have 6 years of pure garbage high school. Then they have 4 years of horrible filthy indoctrination in college. All while their hip parents get stoned and watch garbage on TV.

They’ve been told they are racists. They’ve been told Christianity is for losers. They’ve been told their parents are racists. They’ve been told America is the worst place on the planet. They’ve been told to be ashamed of just about everything they are. They’ve been told they are neither male or female. They’ve been brainwashed by communist Alinsky disciples parading as teachers and professors. They’ve watched 8 years of a president destroy their nation and ruin their future. They studied Howard Zinn’s propaganda disguised as History. They’ve been told they are destroying the planet. They’ve been fed psychotropic drugs while their bodies were still growing. They’ve had pornography beamed in to their eyeballs 24/7. They’ve been lied to, conned, duped, and drugged.

They never had a chance.

Now get off my lawn.

This is what a mindless, rudderless generation looks like. Morally illiterate, stunted in their normal development by the Self-Esteem movement in the K-12 schools, colleges more worried about their hurt feelings than teaching job skills, most are not equipped to succeed. If the government is looking to these over-grown children to pick up the enormous debt load of the country, it will be sorely disappointed. They can’t even pay their student loans.

Well, someone from this generation will come to the fore and lead. It might be Orthodox Jews, home-schooled Christians, or the kids of recent immigrants. There are also some children of baby boomer professionals who are not screwed up and are taking advantage of the lack of competition. Some of them are not yet 30, and own businesses and houses.
