O.J. Simpson is getting his fake Rolex watch back. The timepiece, seized earlier this week by attorneys for Fred Goldman, was ordered returned to the former football star after it was determined to be a knockoff made in China. Goldman lawyer David Cook said his client will comply with Friday‘s order by Superior Court Judge Gerald Rosenberg. Cook had hoped the watch might be worth as much as $22,000, but an appraisal from San Francisco jeweler Shreve & Co. concluded it was worth only about $100. Simpson had told his lawyer, Ronald Slates, he paid $125 for it. Had he...

Getting some measure of justice is proving difficult -- yet again -- for Fred Goldman. The Goldman's lawyers seized a watch from O.J. (after seeing it on TMZ) to pay off the $33.5 million wrongful death judgment against him. But it isn't a Rolex like they hoped -- it's a knock-off from China, worth about $100. If the watch were a genuine Rolex, it would have been worth as much as $22,000. But now they have to return the watch to Simpson, since it falls under an exemption in the judgment -- for jewelry worth less than $6,075. Goldman recently...

Prosecutors eye Rolex to show a pattern of payoffs. Just when it seemed John Ford's legal troubles couldn't get worse, enter a $40,000 wristwatch of questionable origin. Federal prosecutors alleged Wednesday that Ford received the watch -- a diamond-studded Rolex Masterpiece -- in 2004 from prominent Memphis developer Rusty Hyneman. Ford once asserted he got the watch free of charge after using his influence to try to reduce state pollution fines levied against Hyneman, prosecutors said. Neither Hyneman nor Ford has been charged in connection with the watch transaction, yet prosecutors plan to use it as evidence that Ford, who...

CAVEAT: this is a parody song. I am not accusing Torricelli of being a senator who has been bought by the Jersey mob. He may very well never have taken illegal money from anyone. Somewhere he probably has the receipts for the watches and Italian suits. He could have put them away in the junk drawer and can't find them right now. The guy in jail could very well be fabricating a story about the funny money. Hey, the honorable senator is probably as innocent as the Clintons who were hunted and set up by the VRWC. He said he...
