Bob Dole on Friday at Washington National Cathedral, a day after Biden honored his longtime colleague in the Capitol Rotunda. Former President Bill Clinton, who defeated Dole in the 1996 election, and former Vice President Mike Pence were among the prominent attendees, sitting one row apart. Former U.S. Sen. Bob Dole has endorsed Jeb Bush for president and will serve as the former Florida governor's National Veterans’ Chairman, according to the campaign. Maybe they should be thinking about the election of 1996 instead. Does anyone remember the disaster that was Bill Clinton's first term? The first attempt to put gays in the military, the first attack on the World Trade Center by...

In the current debate over judicial nominations, some commentators claim Republicans such as myself are misrepresenting history by suggesting the current filibuster tactics of the Democrats are unprecedented. These commentators cite the 1968 nomination of Abe Fortas to be chief justice of the United States as an example of how Republicans once attempted to block a judicial nomination on the Senate floor. I welcome the opportunity to respond to this claim, because the more Americans learn about the history of judicial nominations, the more they will realize how terribly off-track our confirmation process has become. In 1968, President Lyndon Johnson...

(English-language translation) The Municipality of San Juan [in Puerto Rico] inaugurated yesterday a new daycare center for its employees' children, which has been named after the late former President Ronald Reagan. Former Senator Robert Dole, who was present at the opening ceremony, stated that, during his years in the Senate, he treasured the approval of projects such as Head Start, this specific one of his preference. He pledged to inform the Reagan family of the dedication of this daycare center and affirmed that they will be very honored. Meanwhile, San Juan Mayor Jorge Santini indicated that the center, located in...
