Many people feel Baltimore has a real image problem. A group is trying to change that image and held a town hall Tuesday in an effort to keep families in Baltimore. Federal population estimates indicate Baltimore’s population may fall to a 100-year low. So, the idea is to reverse middle class flight, and that is the work of the Downtown Baltimore Family Alliance. Crime and public safety are among the top reasons families cite when choosing to move away from Baltimore City. Advocates said that when families leave it poses a serious threat to the local economy and undermines the...

Reaction to Sunday's column on Baltimore's distressing loss in population ranged from genuine empathy to snarky glee. Some citizens took the opportunity to complain about city life: A woman in Roland Park said she has a rat problem and that her water has been brown for months. I told her to get on her landlord about the rats and her City Council rep about the water — and to call me if she can't get no satisfaction. It's a depressing development, the city losing some 6,700 residents during the 12 months that ended in July 2016. After years when the...

During an “immigration protest” against President Donald Trump’s plan to ban migrants from terror-prone nations, a group of liberals thought it would be a good idea to block the road. As soon as fed-up police officers arrived, however, they realized law enforcement isn’t playing by Barack Obama’s rules anymore. Last week, a pro-illegal immigration protest kicked off in Arizona in support of a “Day Without An Immigrant,” which gained little media attention likely because of its small numbers. After around 100 vociferous activists gathered in downtown Tucson, local police were called in when the liberal demonstration turned criminal, as they...

Do you remember the Trump rally in San Jose last year when many Trump supporters were attacked by a mob of leftists, seemingly unhindered by police who were there? The people assaulted certainly remember the event and they’ve brought suit against the city for the failure to protect them. The city tried to get the case dismissed, but the judge has decided to allow the suit to continue, in a win for the Trump supporters. According to CBS Local: “We’ve seen video appearing on international local and national media that shows the police standing by as people were getting gruesomely...

The election of Donald Trump has caused the political left to go stark raving mad. There is very little civility among today’s liberals. They were so certain that Hillary Clinton would win the presidency that they are unable to accept the reality of a Trump administration and agenda. In the Congress, there was so much anger that dozens of liberal Democrats boycotted the President’s inauguration. This was an unprecedented display of partisan bitterness. From that day forward, Democrats have refused to work with the new President, instead preferring obstructionism. In the Senate, Democrats delayed confirmation votes on the President’s cabinet...

Dostoyevsky’s “The Demons,” one of the finest political novels ever written, tells the story of Stepan Verkhovensky: an amiable, if faintly ridiculous, scholar idling in the provinces of Russia. As a young man, Stepan flirted with the liberal ideas of his day, publishing an article in a “progressive journal” and aiding in a translation of the socialist Charles Fourier. He even grew convinced for a time that the government was watching him closely (and grows very annoyed to find out that they do not care the least bit about him). Evidently allured by the chicness of radical ideas, Stepan is...

The left and its allies the main stream corporate media have denied till their throats were hoarse that Europe in particular countries like Sweden have a growing crime problem thanks to Muslim immigrants. Despite years and years of no-go zones, riots, demonstrations, chants of allah-akhbar in the streets of Malmo and Stockholm, speeches by clerics and refugees advocating violence and abuse towards women and non-muslims ad nauseum, the far left wont own up. In Europe the problem is much worse... Leftist governments have banned news outlets from reporting rapes and murders, police are forbidden from mentioning ethnicity and religious orientation...

Former Attorney General Loretta Lynch praised anti-Trump demonstrators for “the courage they have shown by their willingness to bleed and shed blood for the progressive cause. Some have died in this opening phase of the fight against the fascism that has gripped our nation since January 20th.” As if in response, leftist Antifa agitators assaulted pro-Trump demonstrators in Berkeley last weekend—burning a “free speech” sign, stealing MAGA hats, and bloodying noses. Lynch hailed the attacks as “a promising sign that the revolution won’t be constrained by bourgeois morality. Instead of cowering in fear, socially aware youths are cracking heads in...

In the last few weeks, there has been a spate of columns by writers on the left condemning the left-wing college students who riot, take over university buildings and shout down speakers with whom they differ... Here's the problem: It is the left that transformed universities into the moral and intellectual wastelands most are now...

Many people seem shocked at the recent savagery of a mob of students at Middlebury College, who rioted to prevent Charles Murray from addressing a student group who had invited him to speak. They also inflicted injuries requiring hospitalization on a woman from the faculty who was with him. Where have all these shocked people been all these years? What happened at Middlebury College has been happening for decades, all across the country, from Berkeley to Harvard. Moreover, even critics of the Middlebury College rioters betray some of the same irresponsible mindset as that of the young rioters. The moral...

The Rotterdam riots, which required a state of emergency to be declared by the Dutch government, are part of a larger unfolding drama involving provocations by the Turkish government inciting millions of Turkish citizens living in European countries. The current crisis began when the Dutch government prevented the Turkish foreign minister from landing in the Netherlands to hold a political rally in Rotterdam in support of dictator Erdogan and an upcoming referendum in Turkey intended to give Erdogan more power. The foreign minister then landed in Metz, France.

I have had a feeling developing the last few weeks, a feeling that the left is approaching a tipping point. We may be reaching a time when the nation tires of the daily protests, the acid rhetoric and outhouse vocabulary, the scowling faces, the outrageous hyperbole, the unsubstantiated accusations, and the totally classless and out of touch remarks directed at the weeping widow of a war hero are starting to become empty and somewhat disgusting to Americans who want to see our nation begin the long journey back to stability and booming prosperity. I probably wouldn't have watched the Academy...

A pro-Trump rally at the University of California, Berkeley turned into a violent, bloody riot Saturday evening. The civil disturbance led to several attendees in pro-Trump clothing and American flag regalia being assaulted. Police in riot gear, and even a man in a gas-mask looking helmet and makeshift shield with an American flag intervened after currently unidentified men were assaulted and beaten on the ground. Some Trump supporters were pepper-sprayed by opposition, according to Buzzfeed News.

Hundreds of students rioted at Middlebury College in Vermont this week, preventing a respected libertarian scholar from speaking and leaving one female professor in a neck brace. Charles Murray was invited by the American Enterprise Institute Club on campus to discuss his book, “Coming Apart,” which chronicles the struggles facing the white working class in the United States. However, a mob first protested and later assaulted both Murray and Professor Allison Stanger.

protest against President Donald Trump at New Haven City Hall on Saturday ended with pepper spray, police dogs and two arrests. After congregating at 3 p.m. to hear speeches, about 200 protesters marched across Route 34, creating a human barricade to block traffic. State police officers then threatened to arrest them if they did not clear the area. Although many attendees began to disperse or watched from the sideline, at least 50 people remained in the street for approximately half an hour. Protesters moved out of the street by 4:50 p.m. and began to march back to City Hall, followed...

WASHINGTON — President Obama ordered his advisers last August to produce a secret report on unrest in the Arab world, which concluded that without sweeping political changes, countries from Bahrain to Yemen were ripe for popular revolt, administration officials said Wednesday. Mr. Obama’s order, known as a Presidential Study Directive, identified likely flashpoints, most notably Egypt, and solicited proposals for how the administration could push for political change in countries with autocratic rulers who are also valuable allies of the United States, these officials said.

“Mr. Trump did not exaggerate Sweden’s current problems,” Akesson and Karlsson wrote. “If anything, he understated them.” “Mr. Trump did not exaggerate Sweden’s current problems. If anything, he understated them.” - Per Jimmie Akesson and Mattias Karlsson, in Wall Street Journal op-ed Trump was ridiculed by many after he gave a speech Saturday citing Sweden among a list of European countries affected by the scourge of Islamic terror. Referring to the massive number of Middle Eastern refugees that have poured into the country, Trump said Sweden was “having problems like they never thought possible.” Some Swedish politicians openly derided Trump’s...

So what is going on in Sweden? Fox News and other sites make it sound like Sweden has burst into chaos with immigrants going nuts at a police arrest, and no go zones for police. The New York Times and The Washington Post claim Rinkeby, the site of the riot, is economically depressed, but the entire situation is a blip on the radar. The Swedish media…well it depends on the outlet. Two other major Swedish outlets seem more interested in the fact the American press went nuts over the riots. Expressen had an entire article dedicated to the American coverage...

A group serving as a central hub of information for congressional town halls was founded by a former Hillary Clinton campaign staffer and its parent company is located at the same address as an organization funded by liberal billionaire George Soros. Democrats have insisted that recent town hall outbursts against Republican politicians occurred organically, likening them to the Tea Party, while President Donald Trump yesterday tweeted that the "so-called angry crowds in home districts of some Republicans are actually, in numerous occasions, planned out by liberal activists. Sad!" The Town Hall Project, a group that serves as a one-stop shop...

Prosecutors have indicted 214 people on felony rioting charges in connection to protests that broke out in downtown Washington, DC, on Inauguration Day. Police originally arrested 230 people after demonstrators smashed storefronts and bus stops, launched rocks at police and set fire to a limousine on January 20. Six police officers were injured as chaos erupted in parts of the capital, just blocks away from where Donald Trump was being sworn in as president. A grand jury in DC charged five individuals on Tuesday, adding to the 209 defendants who were indicted earlier this month. Those who have been...
