The latest jobs report from Texas is rather good: "Texas’ seasonally adjusted unemployment rate fell to 5.2 percent from 5.5 percent in March, according to the Texas Workforce Commission. That was far less than last month’s U.S. jobless rate of 6.3 percent.    For the last 12 months, Texas added 348,000 jobs, with gains in all 11 major industry groups gaining. Same schmuck who just declared war on the Tea Party...  I was actually considering Perry a second-tier maybe for 2016, hard to argue with his economic record.
