  • Georgetown Battles “Islamophobia” While Christians are Killed

If Islamization ever comes to America—and it may come quickly depending on the outcome of the November election—certain Catholic individuals and institutions will bear a heavy burden of responsibility. I’m thinking in particular of Georgetown University and its Alwaleed bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding (ACMCU). ACMCU’s Bridge Initiative released a report in September on “American Catholic views of Islam, and the way Islam is discussed in Catholic publications.” The report, “Danger & Dialogue,” is particularly concerned that the way Islam is presented in Catholic media is unduly influenced by Catholic “Islamophobes” who are connected to the “Islamophobia industry.” Now...

A closed Catholic church in Bristol Township has been sold to a Muslim cultural society. The former Immaculate Conception B.V.M. Catholic Church, on Emilie Road, was sold for $1,775,000 last Friday to the United American Muslim Society of Brooklyn, LevittownNow.com reports. The group is the parent corporation for the Turkish American Muslim Cultural Association on Levittown Parkway in Bristol Township, according to the story. The announcement of the sale made during weekend masses was “positively received by parishioners,” Archdiocese of Philadelphia spokesman Ken Gavin told LevittownNow.com.

Evangelicals Didn’t Even Study for This Test ...this year, LifeWay used more stringent criteria for evangelical faith, as defined by some group called the National Association of Evangelicals. Only participants who called the Bible their highest authority, said personal evangelism is important, and indicated that trusting in Jesus’ death on the cross is the only way of salvation, were labeled “evangelical.” They totaled 586 survey-takers. Everyone expected them to perform better than most Americans. No one expected them to perform worse. Seven in ten evangelicals—more than the population at large—said that Jesus was the first being God created. Fifty-six percent...
  • 'God can anoint the jawbone of an ass, but He can't use a Jezebel'

Not backing down. I told you some months back about an intriguing word from Christian teacher Lance Wallnau, who says he has heard from God that He is raising up Donald Trump to be a "wrecking ball against the spirit of political correctness." You might think that Wallnau would back off that assertion somewhat in light of the things that have come out about Trump over the course of the past two weeks. Well, if you think that, you're wrong. Quite to the contrary, Wallnau turns the circus of recent days on those who are driving all the hulaballoo, and...

Father Arturo Sosa Abascal, SJ, of Venezuela was elected the 31st Superior General of the Society of Jesus at the Jesuits’ General Congregation 36 (GC 36) today in Rome. Fr. Sosa is the first Latin American Superior General of the Society of Jesus, the largest religious order of priests and brothers in the Catholic Church. Fr. Sosa, Delegate of the General for the International Houses and Works of the Society of Jesus in Rome, was elected by 212 Jesuit electors at the General Congregation, the supreme governing body of the Society, which is currently being held at the Jesuit Curia,...

Well, the enemy is busy, as usual, and I fear being more successful than usual. I tend to look at things in a binary fashion and for the election, I see the Christian view, and everyone else's view. During the Primary, I had my picks based on what I saw in the character of the candidates and used the guidelines of what they believed, what fruit they displayed, Biblical knowledge, ect. My picks one by one fell off the list. Now we have, at last, a binary choice. What I see and hear from fellow Christians is misery, complaining, depression,...

The new "Black Pope" is a Venezuelan. The Society of Jesus (Societas Jesu), better known as the Jesuits, elected Fr. Arturo Marcelino Sosa Abascal on Friday, October 14th, as the new religious superior, which the Jesuits officially call the Father General. The Vaticanist, Sandro Magister, drew attention to the Marxist past of the new General, after learning of the election.
  • He Shall Be Like a TREE...Psalm 1 and 2 pt 3

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.(Psalm 1:1-3)In the first Psalm, God reveals the marks of the truly blessed man. His blessedness comes not from outward...

Six Cultural Trends that Challenge the Modern Evangelizer Msgr. Charles Pope • October 17, 2016 • It is critical for us who would preach the Gospel to ponder what sorts of presuppositions our listeners bring to the conversation. Today, sadly, there are many trends that have poisoned the culture and thus make our task much more difficult. But difficult does not mean impossible. It helps to describe modern mindsets, not to despair of them, but rather to look at them with some insight rather than being only vaguely aware of them. If we are more clear on the presuppositions that...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem The Book of Proverbs (Ecclesiastes 9) A Common Destiny for All 9 So I reflected on all this and concluded that the righteous and the wise and what they do are in God’s hands, but no one knows whether love or hate awaits them. 2 All share a common destiny—the righteous and the wicked, the good and the bad,[a] the clean and the unclean, those who offer sacrifices and those who do not. As it is with the good,     so with the sinful; as it is with those who take oaths,     so with those who...

What will the future be like? What will your income be in five years? What will your health be like in three years? Will civilization be safe for your children and your grandchildren? We ask questions like these, even if only to ourselves. Businesses and ministries also plan for the future, including five- and ten-year plans. Do you have a two hundred-year plan? Obviously, you expect that you will have died by the end of that period. What will your death have brought you? Job asked it this way: “If a man die, shall he live again?” (Job 14:14). The...

Our series on the font of error that is Pope Francis continues with his performance before an audience of Lutheran “pilgrims” from Germany at the Vatican on October 13. That date was the 99th anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun at Fatima; but Francis, who is supposedly devoted to the Blessed Virgin and had his pontificate consecrated to Our Lady of Fatima (which accounts for my early optimism concerning his disastrous pontificate), completely ignored the occasion. Instead, he devoted the day to celebrating the memory of Martin Luther in the Paul VI Audience Hall. A statue of the arch-heretic...

MOUNT NEBO, Jordan (CNS) -- The Memorial of Moses on Mount Nebo has reopened its doors to the public amid festivities, after nearly a decade of restoration. Believed by ancient tradition to be the site where Moses saw the Promised Land and died, a church and monastery are perched atop this 3,300-foot rugged mountain facing the northern end of the Dead Sea. It has drawn Christian pilgrims throughout the centuries and is considered one of the most important pilgrimage, tourist, and archaeological sites in Jordan and the Holy Land. Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, the special envoy of Pope Francis and prefect...

A new and unexpected conflict has developed in Rome. This time, however, it is not about marriage and the family, nor, for example, about that vexed question as to whether or not unrepentant and obstinate adulterers may, after all, receive the Sacraments. The contentious issue is now a much more gustatory – and unmistakably profane, yet still very revealing – matter of polite taste: the decision to allow the establishment of a McDonald’s fast-food restaurant at the Piazza della Città Leonina not far away from the St. Peter’s Basilica, just at the border of Vatican City. The Vatican’s decision to...
