The allegations against Roy Moore are disgusting — and if you find yourself reluctant to say so because of your politics, then you’re pretty gross, too. The Leigh Corfman story, reported by the Washington Post, is about so much more than just some older guy having a relationship with some younger girl. That, of course, would be bad enough — many girls haven’t even had their f***ing periods at age 14 — but this is also about a man who abuses his power to prey on the powerless. It’s about a respected district attorney finding a girl in a vulnerable...

Seven people mass-arrested during President Trump’s inauguration in January stand trial next week in a major test for prosecutors who charged more than 200 people with felonies that could carry decades in prison. The first group of inauguration defendants includes independent journalist Alexei Wood, who broadcast to Facebook the anti-capitalism march that police chased through city streets north of the inaugural parade route. More than 230 activists, journalists, and observers were arrested after marchers smashed coffee-shop, restaurant, hotel, vehicle, bus stop, and bank windows. Almost 200 still face charges that carry a maximum of 61 years in prison.

After being relatively well-behaved, MSNBC eventually burst out gloating over the Democratic Party’s tidal wave victories in Virginia as pundits Rachel Maddow and Lawrence O’Donnell celebrated and particularly over the “stunning” victory of transgender House of Delegates candidate Danica Roem that they deemed a night in which “history is being written by movie writers.” O’Donnell was later assisted in the triumphant debriefing by New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof, who encouraged Democrats to put “some referendums on the ballot on guns, on reproductive health, on a lot of other issues, so, I think is a good omen for Democrats in...

California’s NAACP is pushing for state lawmakers to support a campaign to remove "The Star Spangled Banner" as the country's national anthem. The group says the song, which has been a point of controversy in the NFL, is "one of the most racist, pro-slavery, anti-black songs in the American lexicon," The Sacramento Bee reported Tuesday. The NAACP’s California chapter last week reportedly sent out two resolutions, which had been passed at the organizations state conference last month. One of the resolutions was to support the removal of the anthem, while the other is an effort to get the NFL to...

For anyone monitoring America’s far-right, it was only a matter of time before Devin Patrick Kelley, the man identified as the Sutherland Springs, Texas, shooter, became “antifa.” Antifa, a leftist protest movement with no organizational hierarchy whatsoever, was blamed for the mass shooting in Las Vegas by Alex Jones’ conspiracy website Info Wars. They were responsible for allegedly plotting a civil war involving supersoldiers Saturday—one that utterly failed to manifest. And on Sunday, after a man murdered at least 26 people in a Texas church, the right’s conspiracy peddlers waited only a matter of hours to try to blame the...

A feminist professor at Occidental College recently argued that men must renounce their masculinity and “denounce anyone who chooses to identify with it.” Lisa Wade, a sociology professor at Occidental, published an essay for Public Books calling for people to “attack masculinity directly” to help the nation survive in the wake of President Trump, who she says perpetuates a “vile enactment of masculinity.”

Parents! Remember these rules for dressing your kids for Halloween: The Raising Race Conscious Children blog offered the following advice on how to have a white supremacist-free Halloween: 1. White parents who want to dismantle White supremacy have a special burden to check their entitlement on Halloween—and make sure that their children’s costume choices are not reinforcing a culture of racism. 2. Dressing up as a White person (from the dominant culture of power and privilege) is not cultural appropriation—but consider the development of children’s healthy racial identities on Halloween. 3. Halloween is an opportunity to have a conversation with...

A City University of New York sociology professor reportedly said in a tweetstorm last week that “the white-nuclear family” promotes racism, prompting a backlash on social media. Jessie Daniels, described as an expert on “the Internet manifestations of racism” on her CUNY page, infuriated social media users after reportedly saying that white families promote racism by default. The professor began her argument saying she learned that “the white-nuclear family is one of the most powerful forces supporting white supremacy,” adding that that families “reproducing white children” are “part of the problem” as they facilitate white supremacy in the country, Campus...

[I begin] with the story of a series of Socialist scholars conferences that Barack Obama attended when he lived in New York City between the years 1983 and 1985. And when I finally reconstructed what had gone on at these Socialist conferences that Barack Obama attended, I truly was amazed because what I saw was a kind of map of Barack Obama’s entire subsequent political career. It was at this Socialist conferences in New York in the mid-’80s that Barack Obama encountered the groups, the strategies, and the mentors who would guide him throughout his entire political career. [T]hese Socialist...

Violent left-wing anarchists have announced a nationwide campaign to deface Christopher Columbus statues this coming Monday. Five Christopher Columbus statues have already been vandalized in New York City in recent weeks, according to Far Left Watch. In one case last month, vandals defaced a "larger-than-life" statue of Columbus in Central Park, leaving blood-red paint on his hands, and scrawled, "Hate will not be tolerated" and “#SomethingsComing” on its pedestal. What is coming appears to be a coordinated campaign to destroy monuments all across the country on Columbus Day. The NYC-based antifa group Revolutionary Abolitionist Movement (RAM) made the announcement on...

Although 57 percent of Americans believe in celebrating Columbus Day, the late explorer Christopher Columbus is in the crosshairs of liberals again, more than 511 years after he died. Among those targeting the late, great Italian navigator are Antifa and left-wing intellectuals, as well as the liberal governments of several U.S. cities who no longer acknowledge Columbus on his holiday, which is this coming Monday. The violent partisans at Antifa have named Monday "Deface Columbus Day," hoping to see acts of vandalism against Columbus statues. The famed Italian explorer stirs leftist passions primarily because of traditional hatred of Western culture....

“Staying alive” is probably my favorite hobby. It’s fun and exciting and exhilarating, and it literally keeps my heart rate up. And as a black man in America, a great and efficient way of finding time and space to partake in my favorite pastime is by avoiding unnecessary interactions with raccoons, undercooked chickens, sh**** barbers, Ray Lewis and racist white people. Unfortunately, it can sometimes be hard to distinguish regular ol’ white people from racists—especially when the racists leave their “MAGA” hats at home—so I have to take the information I’ve learned over three decades of interactions with them and...

In a speech Sunday at the March for Racial Justice rally on the National Mall, feminist Gloria Steinem said “gender was invented” to control women and reproduction and that “race was invented … to justify colonialism and slavery.” “So all the women in the world are in some degree of trouble, because it’s all about controlling reproduction. It’s the why of it. Did you ever wonder why? Yeah I mean, the first step in every hierarchy is patriarchy in order to control reproductive,” Steinem said. “So, and racism, caste in India, class. It all makes it much worse, because to...

To remove the vandalism, city crews power-washed the Robert E. Lee monument in downtown Roanoke. The Robert E. Lee monument across from the Roanoke municipal building was vandalized overnight with the message “Rest in power Heather Heyer” scrawled across the face of the obelisk in red paint, according to a Roanoke official. "They fear that the development and building of People's (community) Organizations is the building of a vast power group which may fall prey to a fascistic demagogue who will seize leadership and control and turn an organization into a Frankenstein's monster against democracy." - Saul Alinsky responding to his critics, Reveille for Radicals; p. 199 When Saul Alinsky began building his community-organization movement in 1930s Chicago, observers were watching Alinsky with one eye, while with the other eye observing the building of communist and fascist movements in Europe.
