  • Servicemembers Get Sneak Preview of ‘Transformers’

WASHINGTON, June 29, 2007 – Under the cover of darkness in the nation’s capital last night, servicemembers from all branches deployed into theater -- the movie theater. About 600 military personnel and family members attended a sneak preview of “Transformers,” the summer science fiction action-adventure film set for national release July 3. Audience members cheered as virtuous Autobot transformers fought in concert with their U.S. military allies against the depraved Decepticons, while the clash between good and evil played out in stunning images and bone-rattling sound. “That was without a doubt the best movie I have ever seen,” Army Staff...

... Schwarzenegger will need the same people skills to repair another fracture on his right — his deteriorating relationship with the legislative wing of the Republican Party. Right now, that relationship is headed from critical condition to "do not resuscitate." LEGISLATIVE Republicans have every reason to gripe. The governor's most notable "conservative" accomplishments are defensive in nature: He hasn't raised taxes (now debatable, depending on how one interprets the revenue provisions of his universal healthcare plan); he hasn't signed a same-sex marriage law; and he refuses to provide driver's licenses to illegal immigrants. ... There is an underlying irony to...

Signs you might see in a football locker room:“Play like a champion today.”“There is no ‘I’ in team.”“Winners never quit, quitters never win.”Here’s a saying some coaches would do well to post:“Patience is a virtue.”Players, particularly the ones who were blue-chip recruits and have been told of their greatness since dominating Pop Warner leagues, have no interest in waiting for their time to shine. They want it NOW and if they don’t get it NOW then, it’s “See ya, wouldn’t wanna be ya.”Last season, Josh Portis was expected to be the Quarterback Of The Future at Florida. With Chris Leak...

This weekend I've added the Saturday night/Sunday morning Fox/WSJ "Journal Editorial Report" to the mix.  It looks to be a very interesting addition (on "our side," maybe?).Last weekend I clearly missed the MSM spin on the "White House is being too secretive" meme (though I was on  the right track with the "they're being mean" idea).  When I post a meme it is simply my best guess and I'm desperately reaching out for others to correct or augment anything I post.  That's the purpose of my thread.  Not to declare "this is what is" but to ask "is this close"...

Fox News Sunday (Chris Wallace) Memes: As usual it looks like Fox is reversing the main meme of the other shows: the usual suspects (Dems/MSM) are trying to blame the grown ups for a natural disasterThe MSM are out of their tiny minds, particularly CNN for lashing out at Brit Hume and Fox for the Cheney interviewThey are giving Evan Bayh a platform for trying to run right of George Bush on IRANThey are giving Lindsey Graham a platform to auditioning as John McCain's VP candidate, therefore he will take the Democrat talking points on NSA and repeat them, ad...

Fox News Sunday (Chris Wallace) Meme: Two different directions this week, first politics and the WOT: Are Republicans being unfair and partisan when they actually pay attention to the terrorist attacks on the United States? With Sen. George Allen as the guest he will be given the chance to make the "NO" case, but watch for some gratuitous dig at Bush just to give him some "street cred," but I don't see anything from this weeks news as to what it will be about Race relations and Republicans, the Bush administration in particular Any other Sunday show would have Ron Christie,...

WASHINGTON, Feb. 1, 2006 – Terrorists have failed repeatedly to meet their objectives in Iraq, Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld said here today. "They failed to stop the January elections, they failed to stop the drafting of the constitution, they failed to stop the referendum on the constitution, they failed to stop the most recent election, they failed to stop the seating of the parliament, they're going to fail to stop the seating of a new government," Rumsfeld said at a Pentagon news briefing. "They are on the run. ... They have failed in almost everything they have tried to...

I did a search and didn't see this, so I figured I would post it. Saw The Incredibles tonight (very cool movie) but was surprised to see a preview for Star Wars Episode III. I know we all been disappointed with I and II, but this one looks very much like we fans have been hoping for.
  • Why many citizens fear attorneys and judges more than terrorists

From the Supreme Court on down, America's judiciary, once representing the hope of justice, equality under law and protection of the innocent, has largely become just the opposite – persecutor of the innocent, protector of the corrupt and destroyer of the Constitution, according to the no-holds-barred August edition of WND's popular Whistleblower magazine. Titled "LAW-LESS: Why many Americans fear attorneys and judges more than terrorists," this eye-opening and disturbing special report leads off with veteran radio talk host and columnist Dennis Prager, who writes: I was raised to believe that law is the glory of decent society; that the rule...
