Former President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama.Former President George W. Bush apparently did something over the weekend that is quite rare for him: He criticized his successor in the White House. According to multiple reports on a closed-door Saturday event with Jewish donors, Bush offered his harshest public assessment of President Barack Obama's foreign policy. Bloomberg's Josh Rogin reported that Bush said Obama had caused the US to "retreat" around the world and that Obama had charted the wrong course in his nuclear negotiations with Iran

In an angry editorial published in the Sunday edition of the New York Times, the newspaper's editorial board called on president Barack Obama to “Prosecute Torturers and Their Bosses.” The list of offenders “in a credible investigation” is a long one, including former vice president Dick Cheney; his chief of staff, David Addington; former CIA director George Tenet; and John Yoo and Jay Bybee, the lawyers for the Office of Legal Counsel who helped draft the documents clearing the way for “enhanced interrogation“ of prisoners and enemy combatants. In addition, the editors called for charges to be brought against Jose...

I just tried to find a video of George W. Bush throwing out the first pitch of the World Series in New York immediately after September 11th, 2001. Not only has it vanished when I could find it with no trouble in the past (including what I remember to be a short ESPN documentary), but it appears that the search terms I used (bush first pitch world series, etc.) bring up nothing but 9 - 11 conspiracy stuff or anti-Bush clips. Anyone else see this?

WALLACE: I want to follow up on that. Whether it is interrogation of terror prisoners or the intercepting of surveillance among al Qaeda members, are you ever puzzled by all of the concern in this country about protecting of rights of people who want to kill us? BUSH: That is an interesting way to put it. I wouldn't necessarily define some of the critics of my policy that way. I would say that they want to be very careful that we don't overstep our bounds from protecting the civil liberties of Americans. And I understand that, a lot. I do...

<p>A poem in a school textbook has been removed by embarrassed education officials in Pakistan after it was found that the first letters of each line spelt out "President George W Bush."</p>

Today all over the world, the President of the United States, the most powerful man in the entire world came to the aid of his bodyguard. Yahoo news! AFP - Reuters - AP described the incident "the President in the thick of the pushing and shoving match, he reached into the group and pulled Agent Nick Trotta out by the lapel and into the dinner". A conspicuously brave and a very simple act - perhaps he muttered (in Spanish) to the Chilean guards that Nick Trotta, the man they are trying to manhandle was with him. A few words and...

George W. Bush Scheduled to speak in New Port Richey at noon Tuesday, October 19th at Sims Park. I happened to be at the Republican Headquarters looking for yard signs when I discovered that the President is scheduled for an appearance here. Tickets are needed to enter. My questions are: this is my first such event. How soon should I get there to be able to get close to the president? Are cameras allowed? Anyone with information about these events please inform me. Thanks- Quaker

VATICAN CITY, JUNE 4, 2004 (Zenit.org).- John Paul II appealed to U.S. President George Bush for the return of Iraq to full sovereignty as soon as possible, with the participation of the international community, in particular the United Nations. During an audience in the Vatican today, the Pope also called for "new negotiations" for peace in the Holy Land, programs to put an end to the "intolerable conditions" of Africa, and greater cooperation for peace between the United States and Europe. The Holy Father expressed his appreciation of the Bush administration's commitment to the promotion "of moral values in American...

President Bush will award Pope John Paul the Presidential Medal of Freedom Friday, the highest U.S. civilian award, a U.S. official said Thursday. The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the pontiff was being honored for "years of fighting for freedom and for his important moral voice." Bush is to meet the Polish pope at the Vatican Friday. The pope strongly opposed the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq and last week publicly condemned torture as an affront to human dignity, seen as a veiled reference to American abuse of Iraqi prisoners at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison. In November the U.S....

<p>Speaking in London on Wednesday, President Bush said, "Israel should freeze settlement construction, dismantle unauthorized outposts, end the daily humiliation of the Palestinian people, and not prejudice final negotiations with the placement of walls and fences."</p>
<p>Happy Thanksgiving! It's time to carve up the turkey. It is, however, customary to kill the bird and drain its lifeblood before serving it. I find it strangely coincidental that every time Tony Blair is in trouble over the Iraq war, Bush runs to the rescue by donating Israel's lifeblood!</p>

October 30, 2003 George W. Bush President of the United States of America Dear Mr. President: I am writing to convey my disappointment over remarks that were spoken by you regarding Islam, and also to express my strong disapproval of the recent "Ramadan Dinner" that occurred at the White House. Mr. President, I realize the need for diplomacy; but, sir, you have gone too far--almost to the point of appeasement. Our enemies will not suddenly regain their sense of humanity, and tomorrow cease to hate America--simply because the President of the United States hosts a Ramadan Dinner at the White...

Flood the Zone Fridays, brought to you by Karl Rove Posted by Ezra Klein George W. Bush has a new website up, and upon seeing it, you have to admit -- this is a campaign that "gets" the web. Their website consolidates many of the tools that the Democratic challengers and their supporters have been experimenting with, and they are well implemented. Particularly impressive is their Action Center, which has one the the coolest, most useful tools I've ever seen: If you scroll about halfway down the page, you'll see a field where you can input your zip code...

Fox and Friends talking about the President yesterday. E.D.:"I'll tell you what, Laura has a hottie on her hands. Look how good he looks. We sound like a bunch of cheerleaders for him but he was fantastic! You could tell he looked so stoked and so excited to be there." Kilmeade: "They said Lincoln was a hottie too." Doocy:"If your a Democratic presidential candidate..maybe you should just join a lobbyist group for the next four years or something. Cause I don't think your going to be taking that man's job anytime soon."

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday, August 21, 2002 The Imperative for Action Houston is a fitting place to describe the qualities of leadership that will bring true security to our fellow Americans. I say that because our city stands apart in several significant ways. First, we`re Texans and we posses a deep understanding of freedom’s price. Texans haven`t forgotten that the security necessary for a free society is earned. It’s not guaranteed. The early citizens of our state won independence against Santa Anna half a day`s march from this very room and we still remember the lasting lesson of their sacrifices....

The 21st century took a new direction last Monday in the bold chess move of President George W. Bush. In what was superficially reported only as a shift in U.S. policy towards the Israeli-Palestinian situation, we may have witnessed the turning point in a game whose outcome will decide and define the future shape of global governance. Chess is not dominoes. But by urging the creation not only of a Palestinian state but also of a democratic, free market Palestinian state, Mr. Bush knows he is setting in motion forces that could soon topple many Muslim and other undemocratic governments...
