President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the US military will be used to guard the US-Mexico border. “We are going to be guarding our border with our military. That’s a big step,” Trump told reporters gathered at the White House. “We cannot have people flowing into our country illegally, disappearing, and by the way never showing up for court.” The President’s comments appear to take aim at current US policy which requires border agents to catch then release family units who arrive at the border from noncontiguous countries. He also said he had spoken with Secretary of Defense James Mattis...
  • Lt. Gen. Boykin: 'God's Imprint Was On' Trump's Election Win

The vice president of the Family Research Council, Lt. Gen. William G. "Jerry" Boykin (ret.), a former leader of Delta Force and commander of Army Special Forces, said the endless attacks by the left on President Donald Trump are "diabolical" and that the left is in "disarray" because they do not understand that "God's imprint" is evident in the election of Trump in 2016. “They are coming up with these absolutely absurd, off-the-wall things trying to justify and rationalize why they lost this election to a guy like Donald Trump," said Boykin on the Mar. 27 edition of The Jim...

  • Billy Graham: Pastor to Presidents

    02/21/2018 7:08:30 AM PST · by oxcart · 35 replies
Billy Graham has often said, “Whether the story of Christ is told in a huge stadium, across the desk of a powerful leader, or shared with a golfing companion, it satisfies a common hunger. All over the world, whenever I meet people face-to-face, I am made aware of this personal need among the famous and successful, as well as the lonely and obscure.” Every U.S. President since World War II has met with Billy Graham. Both Johnson and Nixon, the two who probably sought him the most, offered him high positions in government — which he quickly and politely refused....

Daytime TV personality Oprah Winfrey's assertion that she will not run for president in 2020 "because if God actually wanted me to run, wouldn't God kinda tell me? And I haven't heard that. I had a lot of wealthy men calling, telling me that they would run my campaign and raise $1 billion for me, but it's just not in my spirit." Joy Behar, a panelist on ABC's The View talk show, called Oprah's remarks "insane. It's the kind of thing we'd expect to come out of Vice-President Pence's mouth. What can she be thinking putting the imaginary words of...

Following a referendum vote on sweeping constitutional changes in April 2017, Turkey's government will transition from a parliamentary democracy to an executive presidency after the next presidential election in 2019. The odds of a free and fair election are slim given the measures incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has taken — and the further measures he will take — to ensure he comes out on top. Though former President Abdullah Gul would be Erdogan's most credible challenger, he is unlikely to run in the next presidential race.

There is a need we all have in these days and times for some help which comes from outside ourselves as we face the multitude of problems... Once in a while it might be a good thing for us to turn back to history. Let us study a little bit of what happened at the founding of this Nation. It's not merely the events that led up to the Revolutionary War. All of the confused problems that we were then called upon to solve were as difficult as those we face now... So when we came down to the Declaration...

Republicans are feeling better about their prospects in the midterm elections, buoyed by recent polls that show their numbers improving. An ebullient President Trump touted the shift in public sentiment reflected in recent polls during a joint Senate-House Republican retreat in West Virginia this week. “I just looked at some numbers, you’ve even done better than you thought,” Trump told lawmakers, citing poll numbers he discussed Thursday with National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) Chairman Steve Stivers (R-Ohio).

For what?” Comey tweeted Friday. “DOJ & FBI must keep doing their jobs,” he added. That’s it? Founded by Klaus Schwab in 1971, the World Economic Forum’s original mission was to introduce successful American management techniques to European firms. The annual global gathering—now known to most simply as “Davos”—has grown into a four-day conference that hosts about 3,000 of the world’s elite in business, government, and civil society.President Donald J. Trump’s address on January 26, 2018, marked only the second time a sitting U.S. president has attended the event in person. Ronald Reagan addressed Davos multiple years via video, and Bill Clinton has become a regular attendee after first visiting the conference in 2000. Presidents George...

Oprah Winfrey has suggested she will not run in the 2020 US presidential election, saying the job is "not something that interests me". The talk show host has been widely touted as a potential candidate for the Democratic party. But in an interview with a US magazine she gave her strongest suggestion yet that she was not planning to run. "All you need is a mug and some campaign literature and a T-shirt," Winfrey told InStyle Magazine. "I’ve always felt very secure and confident with myself in knowing what I could do and what I could not. And so it’s...

Donald Trump was the first presidential candidate since Richard Nixon not to reveal his federal income tax return. Some Oregon Democrats want to try to make him the last. A bill introduced Monday in Salem would require candidates for president and vice president to give a copy of their most recent tax return to the Oregon Secretary of State with written permission that the document can be made public. Alternatively, the candidate could fill out Oregon’s standard income disclosure form for public officials. The requirement would apply to candidates on primary and general election ballots and those wishing to be...
