Republicans are feeling better about their prospects in the midterm elections, buoyed by recent polls that show their numbers improving.
An ebullient President Trump touted the shift in public sentiment reflected in recent polls during a joint Senate-House Republican retreat in West Virginia this week.
“I just looked at some numbers, you’ve even done better than you thought,” Trump told lawmakers, citing poll numbers he discussed Thursday with National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) Chairman Steve Stivers (R-Ohio).

Which of these seats can GOP pick up? They will lose a few. Can they get good candidates to keep open seats. What about GOP seats in districts HRC won?
There was never a blue wave.
It is not enough to elect people in R jerseys if they are Bush League Republicans hell bent on amnesty for 30 million new Democrats.
AZ is being set up to elect Flake’s replacement as Amnesty Senator.
The Bush League Republicans are using Joe Arpaio’s ego to crowd out Kelli Ward, who is the reason Flake is quitting.
They want to sneak in McSally.
Trump plans to campaign for Republicans.
Not sure they deserve it, but it is what it is.
Who is going to take MC CANE’s place. That should take one out of the running. Ward?
Every time President Trump makes a big speech like the SOTU the republicans gain BIG. This usually lasts until romney, little jebbie, flake and mccain start pontificating. Then the polls tank again.
They don’t deserve it but neither do the dems.
We’re so far beyond ballot box solutions it’s not even funny. If people vote in dems in 2018, it’s all over but the screaming and the dying. Then again, we may just go out with a whimper.

The Governor is probably going to appoint McSally if McCain dies before the election and she is behind in the polls or fails to get nominated.
Am assuming two new senators will be Ward and MC Sally. Don’t see anyone appointing Sheriff Joe as much as we love him
President Trump can lead the republican party out of the swamp and bring it great success.
But they have to stop fighting him, stop listening to people like John McCain, and stop trying to appease democrats and the moocher industry.
The mid-terms are nine months away. At this point polls are less than meaningless.
Don’t assume anything.
If the Bush League Republicans get their way, McSally takes Flake’s seat and the Governor appoints some as yet unknown Amnesty Senator, so they still have two.
The same thing may play out in TN.
Alexander wants a 2nd Amnesty Senator there, too since Corker is quitting.
IIRC the newly in-charge Republican congressional caucus gave honorary membership to Rush Limbaugh in 1994.
