The fire started at around 1:15 p.m. at Kreider Farms on the 1400 block of Mt. Pleasant Road in South Annville Township. According to Annville-Cleona fire Chief Philip Snavely, the fire caused $12 million in damages and has killed an estimated 250,000 chickens. Fire officials say the fire began in the middle of a poultry barn row. The middle barn became fully enflamed, but crews were able to keep the fire neutralized to the one building.
