Labor Secretary Hilda Solis has authorized new posters featuring first lady Michelle Obama to be placed in elevators throughout the Department of Labor headquarters in Washington, D.C. The Obama campaign has more than $60 million cash on hand. In an economy this bad, you'd think a presidential campaign that flush would be happy to pay good money for a talented designer to create a campaign poster. The Federal Reserve system has lots of ways to communicate with the public, but that wasn’t always the case. The Fed has Web sites for the board in Washington and all the regional banks with access to speeches by officials, research and even blogs, there’s TV coverage of the chairman’s testimony and now press conference, there’s a plethora of other sites (including this one, of course) that cover the central bank closely, not to mention the banks’ paper publications and local outreach efforts.
