Hmm every time I’m tempted to think of this sorta thing as crass and tasteless I remember that Robert Byrd spent a really long time working as hard as he could to deprive me of as much liberty and property as he possibly could . . . and then I don’t feel so bad about laughing at this.

Exactly! Besides its how tasteless is it really? The guy WAS, in fact, a member of the klan after all. Thanks to our media more people would guess that Strom Thurmond was before guessing him.
Like I said, I’m doing this because the media will be kind to him. If we’re not allowed to forget Thurmond’s views then we Byrd’s past is certainly worthy of a humorous jab or two.
