A reporter last night asked San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich why it’s important for the NBA to celebrate Black History Month. Popovich isn’t one to pull any punches: ‘I think it’s pretty obvious. The league is made up of a lot of black guys. To honor that and understand it is pretty simplistic. How would you ignore that? But more importantly, we live in a racist country that hasn’t figured it out yet.’

San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich has never been shy when it comes to criticizing President Donald Trump and he continued Monday, calling Trump a “soulless coward.” According to Dave Zirin of The Nation, Popovich called him Monday to vent after Trump attempted to defend his lack of public statements about the four United States soldiers who were killed in an ambush in Niger. Speaking Monday his press availability, Trump said: “President Obama and other presidents, most of them didn’t make calls, a lot of them didn’t make calls. I like to call when it’s appropriate, when I think I’m...

Greg Popovich, while mocking Trump during his media day presser, inadvertently tells the truth about the locked arms. The context is based on Trump's tweet about the Cowboys standing with locked arms and approving of it. In so many words: "This is an individual who thought players locking arms were honoring the flag. That's just delusional."

SAN ANTONIO -- Spurs coach Gregg Popovich spoke openly Friday about his frustration with Tuesday night's election of Donald Trump as the country's 45th president. "I'm still sick to my stomach, and not basically because the Republicans won or anything, but the disgusting tenor, tone and all the comments that have been xenophobic, homophobic, racist, misogynistic," he said before the Spurs' home game against the Detroit Pistons. "And I live in that country where half the people ignored all that to elect someone. That's the scariest part of [the] whole thing to me.
