Hillary Clinton used to be pretty popular. When she was sworn in as secretary of State in 2009, Clinton boasted a favorable/unfavorable rating of 57 percent-34 percent. Her numbers stayed relatively steady during her tenure at the State Department. But ever since Clinton quit her job in 2013 and started preparing for a second White House run (the first was a failure), her popularity has declined significantly. According to a recent survey from Public Policy Polling, Clinton’s favorable/unfavorable rating is currently underwater:

A new Quinnipiac poll has Rand Paul tied for 5th. That’s eight different polls since November showing Paul in 4th place or worse. There was a moment in 2013 when political realignment was within our grasp– a once-in-a-generation opportunity to unite conservatives and progressives under the banner of classic Jeffersonian liberalism. That window is closed– squandered by the mind-boggling incompetence of senior adviser Doug Stafford. I know what you’re thinking: It’s still early! Polls don’t matter until [some arbitrary future date]. (SNIP) Rand could meet with Al Sharpton again. Because that went over so well the first time. Rand could...

The recent signing of a medical marijuana bill by GOP Sens. Rand Paul and Dean Heller hasn’t gone unnoticed. Republican Majority Whip Steve Scalise has introduced a poll on his website, asking people to vote on whether marijuana should be legalized on the federal level. Scalise in the past has voted down marijuana reform legislation, Marijuana.com reports. On May 30, 2014, Scalise voted against an amendment in the House to prevent the Department of Justice from using funds from its budget to crack down on states that have enacted medical marijuana programs. Later, in July, Scalise voted against legislation to...

We've been focused on the emails controversy and the other scandal involving the Clinton Foundation.   Furthermore, we are hearing a lot of serious concerns about Hillary Clinton the candidate. And these concerns are from Democrats. I've been looking at the head to head match ups for several months and Hillary is under 50% across the board in the RCP average: 47% vs Walker48% vs Bush (but that includes one poll that had her at 54%..... no candidate has achieved that percentage of the popular vote since President Reagan was reelected in 1984 with 60%... so forgive me for being a bit...

More Americans are clamoring for change in the upcoming 2016 presidential election than they were in the "Hope and Change" year of 2008, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. That desire for change is a potential roadblock for two of the leading frontrunners - Democrat Hillary Clinton (the former first lady, presidential candidate and secretary of state) and Republican Jeb Bush (the former Florida governor whose brother and father served as president).View the full poll results here. But it might be a more significant challenge for Bush, given that fewer than half of Republican primary voters believe he...

The conventional wisdom inside the beltway and on the sets of cable news outlets is that the Democratic Party has grown, perhaps inexorably, more liberal over the course of the Obama era. It is not hard to find liberal Democrats who believe that the Obama presidency failed to meet their expectations. As it happens, though, a new McClatchy-Marist survey found that a plurality of Democrats agree that it is time to move on from the Obama era of Democratic governance. According to that survey, 47 percent of Democrats agree that “It’s more important to have a Democratic nominee for...

Two weeks ago former NYC Mayor Rudy Guiliani took a lot of heat from the media when he said President Obama doesn't love America during a fundraiser for Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker. It turns out, many Americans agree with Guiliani's assessment. According to a new Fox News poll, the vast majority of Americans believe the United States is the greatest country in the world, but a smaller majority believe President Obama feels the same way. The new poll also finds the numbers saying Obama is patriotic, honest or a strong leader have all declined in the past few years. More...
