  • Get ready for liberals to fall in love with the Fox News poll: Obama approval stages a comeback

Grassroots liberals often seem confuse the Fox News poll, a survey conducted by two respected partisan pollsters, with Fox News Channel. For some, they discount the results of the Fox poll as though Bill O’Reilly was spending his evenings on the phone with respondents. The fact is that the Fox News survey is a solid poll with a reliable track record.Which is why conservatives should be concerned with its latest results. As Ed Morrissey noted on Thursday, the latest Fox News survey could indicate that President Barack Obama is enjoying a bit of a comeback. Actually, his job approval...

A clear majority of voters say they approve of the United States' recently launched airstrikes in Iraq, a Fox News poll released Wednesday shows. But the survey shows President Obama gets low marks overall for his handling of Iraq. Fully 65 percent of Americans say they approve of the airstrikes. Just 23 percent disapprove. The poll of registered voters was conducted from Sunday to Tuesday. U.S. warplanes struck Sunni extremist militants last Friday. Obama said the airstrikes were conducted to "prevent terrorist forces from advancing on the city of Irbil."

Washington (CNN) – Four decades after President Richard Nixon resigned, a slight majority of Americans still consider Watergate a very serious matter, a new national survey shows. But how serious depends on when you were born. The CNN/ORC International poll's release comes one day before the 40th anniversary of Nixon's resignation on August 9, 1974. With the Watergate scandal escalating, the second-term Republican president had lost much of his political backing, and he faced almost certain impeachment and the prospects of being removed from office by a Democratic-dominated House and Senate. There's a big generational divide over the significance of...

Just 13% of Americans say the government can be trusted to do what is right always or most of the time, with just over three-quarters saying only some of the time and one in 10 saying they never trust the government, according to the poll. "The number who trust the government all or most of the time has sunk so low that it is hard to remember that there was ever a time when Americans routinely trusted the government," CNN Polling Director Keating Holland said. The poll was conducted for CNN by ORC International from July 18-20, with 1,012 adult...

Opposition to the health care law skyrocketed in July to reach the highest point ever, according to a Friday tracking poll from the Kaiser Family Foundation. The pro-Obamacare health care nonprofit found that 53 percent of Americans view the health care law unfavorably right now, up from 45 percent in June. It’s the largest majority that viewed Obamacare negatively in Kaiser’s monthly polls since the health care law was passed in 2010.

53% of Americans have an unfavorable opinion of Obamacare, up 8% since last month. This is the largest unfavorable opinion of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) in the survey’s four year history, a poll by the Kaiser Family Foundation finds. Only 37% of people actually have a favorable opinion of the law. Obamacare lost favorability with women, whites, and those in the low and middle income brackets, along with other groups—including Democrats. …

A note of caution. Republicans in Congress and in the commentariat are fed up with this White House failing to faithfully execute the law, as is its constitutional charge. Regarding this administration’s selective enforcement of the laws passed by Congress – ranging from DOMA to DACA, from recess appointments made while Congress was in session to the delayed and selective implementation of the Affordable Care Act – the GOP is foursquare behind a proposal to sue the president over his flagrant abuse of authority. The public at large, however, is less than enthralled with the idea of suing President...

Americans feel warm toward Jews, Catholics and Evangelicals but they are colder toward Muslims and atheists, according to a new Pew Research Survey. Respondents were asked to rate each faith group according to a "feeling thermometer" ranging from 0 to 100, 0 reflecting the coldest and most negative rating and 100 being the warmest, most positive. The outcome concluded that U.S. adults are more fond of individuals who share their same or similar faith. "In a society like the United States, where religion is such an important part of life, of how people view the world, how people approach politics...

Among "other non-Christians," 59 percent approved of Obama's job performance, 55 percent of "Jewish" adults expressed approval, and 54 percent of those under the "No religion/theist" category said they approve.
